Sail to Tivua Island for a full day of fun and adventure
Includes a glass-bottom boat tour
Join a guided snorkeling tour and free use of canoes
Participate in a kava ceremony and enjoy a buffet lunch
Tivua Island is the perfect day-trip destination in Fiji. Encircled by white-sand beaches and surrounded by coral reef, the pristine tropical island functions as a sea turtle sanctuary during nesting season.
After hotel pickup, step aboard the Ra Marama, a brigantine (two-masted sailing ship) built in 1957 and named after a 19th-century war canoe. Enjoy Fijian music by the entertaining crew and watch for dolphins playing in the bow wave as you’re served morning tea aboard the tall ship.
Upon arrival at Tivua Island, take part in a yaqona (kava) welcome ceremony. You can decide how to while away the hours: swim in the azure sea, stroll around the island, or sunbathe on the sandy shoreline. If you're feeling energetic, a selection of activities such as snorkeling, beach volleyball, reef fishing, and use of kayak, stand-up paddleboard, or canoe is included. Or perhaps set out for some coral viewing on a glass-bottom boat tour.
Dig into a buffet luncheon including barbecue chicken, whole baked fish, sausages, fresh salads, fruit and fresh-baked bread rolls accompanied by local beer, wine and soft drinks. Enjoy afternoon tea before the return sail to your starting point, with drop-off at your hotel by day's end.
This was such a lovely day trip to do. The boat we were on was very nice, we were greeted by a cold drink. All the staff were lovely. Had a cava ceremony which was fun! The island itself is beautiful! Did snorkeling and chilled in the water with some drinks. Water is crystal clear! Absolute bliss! Thanks so much for a great day out!
The ship is like an old pirate ship which is pretty cool. You are greater on board with music and come fresh juice. Once we started heading out you are greater by the crew and they do their best to up sell you on anything possible. I get it... it’s a business.
I went to the back of the boat to talk to the divers about the novice suba trip they tell you it’s some outrageous price but for TODAY ONLY they can do it for a cheaper price. I told them NO and they brought down the price even more. I told them no again and they lowered their price and told me that was the rock bottom price. I agreed we to do it as they hype it up saying that you get a certificate that’s says you can now scuba anywhere in the world and blah blah blah. I did the adventure and it was ok nothing special everything was brown and you really don’t see any colorful fish. It was disappointing and I NEVER GOT MY CERT. I would probably pass on this part of the trip.
The island is small and when it’s low tide good luck trying to swim the water goes way down enough that you could probably walk 200-400 meters away from the island and still have water up to your ankles. Also when they call lunch you better be the first in-line the food will Run out. By the way the food is NOT good.
Here is my last tip. Get all your water, beer, drinks on the island because on the way back they will charge you for everything.
Thank you for taking the time to write. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can followup on the information provided for your diving. Our island is a very safe place to dive and there are normally many colourful fish. Apologies the dive instructor didnt take you to a good place. The food normally receives great feedback. It would be good to know the date your cruised so we can follow up specifically.
The whole day exceeded our expectations. The trip was very organised and the staff kept everyone updated about where to be and what was happening. The island was amazing and wasnt crowded at all. Would definitely recommend.
One hour motor on old sailing ship to private island. Great fun on boat to and from the island. On the island several options available - scuba, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boards. Good guides available. Lunch buffet was also very good.

Captain cook cruise was very good the people were very friendly and helpful. Pickup went well drop was a little awkward thought it was a car for pickup. The problem they showed up on the wrong day which prevented me from doing the trip i wanted. Will never use Viator again as all trips were bad and they cannot get the dates correct.
Beautiful island experience with many fun activities. I wish we could have stayed longer! They also had a scuba option for additional couple hundred USD. Bring a lot of water for the boat rides. Everything is free once you're on the island, but they charge on the boat, which is approx. 1.5 hours each way, and not very well shaded. Besides that, this tour is excellent and very worth the day and money. Chrystal clear water to snorkel in, and you'll see incredible fish and baby reef sharks! This was the highlight of our time in Fiji.
I only booked this the evening before sailing. Within half an hour, I had my emailed voucher and a call from Captain Cook Cruises to confirm my booking and arrange pick up at my hotel. Off to a great start.. it only went Up from there. Our Guide Li was the best! Friendly, helpful and insightful as he guided us snorkeling, kayaking and even a cava ceremony on the boat. I would highly recommend this tour as it was one of the highlights of a three week trip south. Thanks Viator, for your quick, professional response to my last minute booking
Our ship had engine trouble on the way out to the island, but they sent a 2nd ship to pick us up, and extended our time on the island. Crew was great, keeping us entertained while we waited. Our time on the island was fun, although too short. We enjoyed the snorkeling and scuba diving thanks Jamie!. Even though the water was not very clear due to recent storms, we still saw a lot of different fish. I wish they had a few more kayaks and SUPs, and that we had a little more time on Tivua.
This is just a really fun day. Everything is included and you won't worry about a thing. On the island you are treated like royalty. Get a cabana close to the bar and really take advantage of the free drinks and be first in line for the delicious fresh good . On the boat, you pay for drinks but it's cheap. The crew are fabulous.
