Iguazu from both sides

, Mar 2020
My partner and I did the Iguazu Falls tour from both sides. While the Falls were great the same cannot be said about the organization of this tour or the quality of the guides. Firstly, the morning guide was going only to take us to the Argentinian side until I produced a copy of my ticket which explicitly showed that we were booked to see both sides. He eventually arranged to take us to the Brazil side where we picked up a new guide for that sector. The first guide rushed us through the trails providing no more information than we could read online. The second guide, although pleasant, had poor, childlike English and a childlike manner. Disturbingly her focus was more on encouraging us to visit a ‘shop’, book a helicopter or boat ride, or visit the bird park, all she did was drive us through the park to the start of the trail and pick us up at the other end, before driving us back to our hotels. On an organizational point the information should clearly state that participants MUST have sufficient local currency to pay the park entrance fees - as no other currency is accepted.
Finally, we had to get our hotel to call the tour company to find out the time we would be picked up for the tour. The company’s advice about this important information did not arrive by email until after we had returned from the tour.
I do not recommend this tour.

It could be better!

Save yourself some pain and book with a different company or maybe a different tour guide.
Marcelo was one of the worst tour guides I had worked with. He came on time for pick up. That is his highlight. It is true that we were in a schedule, and had a lot to cover, but he seemed to be rushing. Man made the experience pleasant!
I pay a tour guide to facility things and to prepare me for what I'm going to see or experience. Information, I can get it from Google. We got to the Garganta del Diablo cataract and at any point he prepared us to get wet or to protect our phones. He just sent us and said that he would wait for us at certain point. I was expecting him to be with us helping us by telling us about strategic points to get out shot nicer and help to take pictures as all of us were solo travelers.
When one books, customer should be informed about the fact that the entrance in the Argentinian side must be paid in Argentinian pesos, so people can be prepare. This trip the way is currently set, provides basically transportation....Expensive transportation.
This trip definitely needs improvement by providing a higher level of customer service as it has potential to be very cost efficient by allowing visitor to visit both sides of the water falls in a single day.

It’s not a tour..

I wouldn’t say this is a tour. More like a transportation/ pick-up service. It’s nice to be able to see both sides within a day and it’s convenient that transportation was arranged. And I’d really recommend to see the falls from both sides.
BUT, I don’t feel the guide in the tour has any other value added. No information nor any stories about the falls, he didn’t seem to speak very good English as well.
But even as transportation service, this price was way too much. Also the pick-up was almost an hour late.
You could probably find a private driver that can take you to both sides - not necessary to have a guide.
Also, If you are going to the Argentinian side, highly recommend to walk along to the lower trail (we were taken to the upper one only); The scenery there was so beautiful - we only found out later in others pictures.
Anyways the FALLs were AMAZING from both sides - it’s a must to visit but you don’t need a guide.

We had a great time seeing both sides of the falls and would HIGHLY recommend this tour. You really do need to see both sides if you go and they are equally impressive -- this tour allows for both and is all you need. It was also great that we were picked up/ dropped off at our Puerto Iguazu hotel -- even if you do the Brazilian side later, our guide took us back across the border and to the hotel which was very nice.

Don't take this tour

This trip is an absolute joke. Basically its just a bus treated as a shared taxi. The guide comes from brazil to the argentina side of the falls and ours was 2.5 hours late. by the time the guide and the people who were picked up on brazil arrived, we only did 1 track on the argentina side when the tour listed states it will take you to 3. The tour is a clusterf*ck of pick ups and drop offs because guests can be picked up from the brazil/argentina side, do both sides of the falls, one side of the falls, add a boat trip (which then you have to wait for) or probably arrive from the moon for all i know.
Our guide didnt share any knowledgeable information with us, regardless of his ability to speak English, Spanish and Portuguese. Besides learning that he hates Argentina (which he reminded us of frequently) and that he has a house in Florida, I didn't learn anything I couldnt have found on my own on this trip. The coordination of pick ups and drop offs is ridiculous, unless you wanted a drive by of Puerto Iguazu and Foz do Iguacu as you take passengers to their various destinations.
I recommend just taking a bus to the falls on whichever side you are staying at, then either bussing to the other side or hiring a taxi. The price does not include entry to the parks so really its an unacceptable price for an unpleasant taxi.

View of the fall from Brazilian side. Spectacular.

A lot packed into one day, but well worth it to see both sides of the falls. Be prepared for some extensive walking on the Argentina side. Having to change currency to buy Argentine pesos for some of the miscellaneous fees was a bit irritating. Would prefer if tour price had included all required fees except lunch and misc.

The drier was late. There was no clear communication from the viator. It was written that the driver will come at 7 pm. He came at 9.40 am I wish we could spend more time as stated in your advertisement (approx 8 hours). Otherwise, the guide was friendly and explained everything.
