After greeting your guide in central Las Palmas, you’ll receive an introduction to the city’s history as you stroll towards Vegueta, Las Palmas’ ambient Old Town. In Vegueta, cobbled streets and maritime monuments abound: learn about the legacy Christopher Columbus left behind and visit architectural delights such as the Gothic Catedral de Santa Ana.
See, too, the gorgeous fountain at Plaza del Pilar Nuevo, the exterior of the Museum of Sacred Art and Casa de Colón, a museum dedicated to the life of Christopher Columbus. Entry fees to each attraction are not included on the tour.
Amble past historical houses adorned with flower-filled balconies on your way to a traditional Gran Canaria restaurant, at which three plates of tantalizing tapas await you. Expect to enjoy classic dishes such as pata de cerdo (crispy roast pork) and papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes), accompanied by a drink of your choice and a shot of honeyed rum.
Your tour concludes in the restaurant, so opt to continue exploring Vegueta independently, or stay in the venue and purchase food and drinks at your own expense.
