The story of Hong Kong’s history is one best told in its streets. That’s because what was once a British outpost and later became part of the People’s Republic of China has a past that’s as rich and unique as its culture and people. Your small-group walking tour showcases all of the highlights.

You’ll pay a visit to Possession Point, where the British captured Hong Kong in 1841 before continuing along the shore to the Sheung Wan district. Your expert guide will recount the famous history of this area, as well as the Sun-Yat Sen trail as you learn about the founding father of China.

After digging into the past you’ll make your way to the present with a stop at the Central Business District. Ripe with towering skyscrapers and modern buildings this is the administrative hub of Hong Kong. As you wander the streets you’ll see Hong Kong’s first prison, the Victorian Prison Compound, as well as the Central police station and other key buildings.

Learn about the emerging artists who call Hong Kong home with a visit to the Fring Club—known for displaying contemporary and innovative work from young people. You’ll also see some of the neighborhood’s most popular landmarks like the Legislative Council building, the oldest Anglican church in Asia and the Court of Final Appeal Building.

See the European influence at Flagstaff House, where British architecture reigns supreme and get a taste of local politics at the Government’s Headquarters Complex overlooking Victoria Harbour.

Finally you and your fellow travelers will follow your guide to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on the Wan Chai waterfront, where your tour ends. Learn about the famed handover ceremony that took place on this sight in 1997 and see the well-known Blooming Bauhinia Sculpture before retuning to the center of the city.

Our guide was exceptionally knowledgable about the history of the area and answered all our questions. He showed so many things we might have just walked by and not realized what we were seeing. The tour was scheduled for three hours and went for four hours which was a bit too long.

Personable, young but well-informed! guide led an excellent tour of parts of the city I had never seen in several visits to Hong Kong. A much better way to see the city than on a bus.

This was a great tour. Our guide was very informative and we saw a lot in the short time we had. He gave us a lot of history about Hong Kong which we never knew. It was a little wet the day we did this tour but that was not a problem, we were shown everything we were supposed to see. Would recommend this tour.

FABULOUR TOUR. I cannot say how much I love this tour. Our guide, Danny, was wonderful his manner of story telling is elegant and funny. As we walked and he pointed out historical places, he wound a whole story about Hong Kong's journey from backwater Chinese port, to a British Colony after the Opium Wars, to its struggles during WW11, and finally to the powerhouse luxury destination it is today. Without his perspective our time in Hong Kong would have been much less vibrant. THANK YOU, DANNY!!!!

We met Danny at the scheduled place and time. The group consisted of 5 people plus our guide Danny. It started at 10am and finished around 1.15pm. The weather was humid with frequent heavy rain showers. Danny took us through the history of HK from the start of British rule in the 19th century to present day. We visited a number of places of past and present importance in understanding the history of HK. Danny was full of information and imparted it in an interesting way using Q and A to engage with us. I don't think you could get better value for money.
