Overview

Cruise around Ilha Grande in a schooner on this 5-hour tour, featuring stops at the island’s popular attractions. Enjoy 40–50 minutes of free time at each location — Blue Lagoon, Freguesia de Santana, and Japariz — and relax aboard the boat in between stops.
  • 5-hour excursion to three locations near Ilha Grande by schooner
  • Swim alongside tropical fish at Blue Lagoon with optional snorkel equipment rental
  • Visit the Church of Santana at the historic center of Freguesia de Santana
  • Relax on the beach and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch at Japariz
  • Spend 40–50 minutes at each location
  • Noodle buoys and safety equipment included
Meet your guide at Getúlio Vargas Street near Vila do Abraão port prior to a 10:30 a.m. departure. Climb aboard a schooner and head to the popular Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon) in the northern part of Ilha Grande, whose clear waters and bounty of fish make it a sought-after snorkeling destination; take a dip to see for yourself.
Continue to Freguesia de Santana, where the original settlement of Ilha Grande is marked by a historic church near the shore. Then, head to your last stop at the quiet beach town of Japariz, where you can enjoy a lunch of fresh seafood by the water, swim, and lay out in the sun (own expense).
On each of these stops, you will have about 40-50 minutes to explore before reboarding the schooner.
At 3 p.m., return to your original departure point.

A schooner is defined as a sailing vessel, but this was a loud, smelly diesel craft. The ad said limited to 4 persons suggesting that this was a small craft, but there were probably more than 100 people aboard. The tour was supposed to be about 3 hrs, but went longer than 5 and we almost missed our cruise ship's departure. The guide was from Argentina, not Brazil, and although nice, he knew little of the area. The stop for lunch was less than desirable--not sure of the cleanliness of the kitchen, and there were many mosquitos. I would not recommend this to anyone.
