Your tour begins at your selected check-in time in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway in Juneau, where you'll meet a dock representative and enjoy a narrated transfer to the harbor for your 2-hour whale-watching cruise.
Aboard the custom-made boat, you can go outside on the deck or stay warm in the heated cabin with its wide viewing windows to watch for humpback whales, who come to the waters near Auke Bay to feed in the summertime. Your captain will slow down when they are spotted so you have the chance to snap photos, catch any antics like tail slapping or breaching, and listen to commentary about the wildlife from the on-board naturalist. You may also see sea lions, bald eagles, or Dall's porpoises, or possibly even an orca, if you're lucky.
When you return to dry land, head to Tracy's King Crab Shack for your combo meal that includes a meaty king crab leg, crab cakes, and lobster bisque. Wine and beer are available for purchase at your own expense.
