Make your way to the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau, where you'll board a coach that takes you deep into the Alaskan rain forest for your 3-hour heart-pumping, off-road adventure.
Upon arrival at base camp, receive a 20-minute safety briefing to meet your guide, don your gear and become familiar with how to drive your Tomcar, the off-road utility vehicle. Then take the steering wheel or hop into the passenger's seat of your Tomcar and follow your guide into the woods.
Enjoy the immersion in the Alaskan backcountry as you travel along 14 miles (23 km) of unlevel dirt paths, make stops at scenic lookout points to snap shots of waterfalls and soak up the views of Tongass National Forest, the Inside Passage, Behm Canal and Clover Passage.
Stop at the halfway point for a light snack and water break, and then switch drivers if you like. Throughout your outing, keep your eyes peeled for eagles, deer or perhaps even a bear.
