Your day trip starts with pickup in the southern New Hampshire cities of Manchester, Nashua, and Bedford, as well as select Boston hotels (instructions provided on booking voucher).
Then head north to the Mount Washington Cog Railway base in Bretton Woods to hop aboard the railway for your 3-hour guided tour to the highest peak in the Northeast. When you reach the 6,288-foot (1,917-meter) summit, admire views of the peaks and valleys not only in New Hampshire, but also Maine, Vermont, and even Canada. You'll spend about one hour at the summit.
In the mountain community, you can visit the Sherman Adams Visitor Center, the Mount Washington Observatory's Weather Discovery Center, and the 1853 Tip Top House, or perhaps send a piece of mail with a postmark from the top of the mountain. See memorabilia of the railway at Marshfield Station, where the original 'Old Peppersass' engine is one display, or learn about the weather and natural environment of the mountain. There's lots to see and do to satisfy nearly all visitors.
When your time on the mountain is up, you'll start the drive back to southern New Hampshire, stopping on the way at Kellerhaus, a candy shop where you can purchase sweets, if you wish (own expense). Your tour ends with return to your departure point.
