Travel with a small group to four separate wineries in Napier. This 6-hour tour introduces you to a range of varietals including a glass of wine and chef's platter lunch at the Mission Estate Winery, followed by Church Road, Esk Valley, and Linden. Finish with wine, cheese, and crackers at an exclusive viewing platform overlooking Hawke's Bay.
  • 6-hour wine-tasting tour at 4 Napier wineries
  • Chef's platter with glass of estate range wine
  • Additional wine, cheese and crackers
  • Tour of the winemaking facilities with talks on grape-growing and vineyard management
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off included
  • Small-group tour ensures personal attention
You're picked up around noon by 9-passenger 4WD van for the afternoon wine tour of Napier. The 6-hour itinerary begins with wine tasting at the Mission Estate Winery, where you can select a wine from the estate range to pair with your chef's platter.

Then travel onward to the cellar of Church Road Winery for a comprehensive wine tasting that includes sparkling wine. Next up is Esk Valley Estate, which features premium hand-crafted wines. Tours of the winemaking facility are available on weekdays during the harvest season.

Linden Estate is the final winery you'll visit. Here, your guide accompanies you into the vineyard and explains the process of grape growing and vineyard management; then taste an extensive range of wines predominantly made from grapes your guide personally planted more than a dozen years ago.

Before returning to your hotel, you'll travel up to a private gazebo and viewing platform 660-feet (202-meters) above sea level. Savor views of Hawke's Bay while you sip more wine with cheese and crackers.

Great views, wineries and spectacular wine lessons given by Ross. And at the end, a charming and delicious cheese platter to relax. Must to do it!

Ross provided an excellent experience. He is knowledgeable about the area and not just the wine. He has worked the vineyards and provides tremendous insights into the wines and wine making history. We can highly recommend this tour.

This was an absolutely lovely tour and day. High points go to both the Chefs Platter delicious! and tour guide Ross, who has worked in the wine industry for 25 years, and who had informative answers to my many, many questions. I would definitely recommend this tour if you find yourself in the Napier area!

This was our first winery tour we've ever been on, and it couldn't have gone any better! The guides were extremely thoughtful - they had split us up from the other group which had booked on the same tour that day as they were a larger group and so the guides thought we would be uncomfortable. We had a lovely trip around 4 different wineries had the Chef's Platter at the first winery and snack at the third and the guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the wineries and the city. Thank you so much for the experience.

Brilliant, everyone on the tour was talkative and friendly, the guy running it is extremely knowledgeable, welcoming and informative. The evening spot on the summit is a brilliant experience. I'd recommend to anyone. My only point would be that the tour bus is not the most wheelchair accessible.

This tour packed a lot into one afternoon. Pickup at hotel by Ross was bang on time and as only two of us were booked that day, it amounted virtually to a private tour, and an excellent one at that. We visited four wineries - Mission Estate, Church Road, Esk Valley and Linden Estate. Wine tastings at each were presented by friendly and informed staff - in total I tasted 21 wines though not all were consumed! - be prepared for a good deal of well-mannered spitting if you are to survive the afternoon! We had very pleasant charcuterie platter lunch in the delightful surrounds of Mission Estate. The wine tasting themselves were satisfying enough, but for us the highlight of the afternoon was the guided tour by Ross, steeped in first hand experience of vine growing in Hawkes Bay and a fount of knowledge on the vines and wines. Not only that, as a substantial bonus for us, he proved to be a fund of knowledge about local bird life and took a number of diversions to show us some of the hidden gems around Ahoriri - I'm glad I brought my binoculars! A great day out - highly recommended.

Ross was fantastic, the wine was delicious, and the wineries were beautiful. Unless you simply hate wine and beautiful countryside and excellent and informative service, I cannot imagine anyone would be disappointed with this experience. One of my highlights from my 10 day trip to New Zealand!
