Hike, snorkel and kayak on the windward coast of Kualoa during this full-day eco-adventure from Oahu. Explore one of the most ruggedly beautiful areas of the island and learn about its historical significance from an experienced nature guide. Hike through the lush Hakipuu Valley and the Koolau Mountain ridge, then kayak and snorkel on the aqua waters of Kaneohe Bay. Lunch, refreshments and all snorkeling and kayaking equipment are provided. Round-trip transportation from Waikiki hotels is included.
  • Kayak, hike and snorkel combo adventure to Kualoa on Oahu
  • Breathtaking views of Kualoa
  • Scenic hike to Hakipuu Valley
  • Great snorkeling on Kaneohe Bay
  • Kayak trip past Mokoli'i Island
  • Picnic lunch at secluded beach on Secret Island
  • Snorkel with tropical fish
  • Hotel pickup and dropoff
Following pickup at your Waikiki hotel, travel to the Hakipuu Valley for the first portion of your full-day adventure.

Take a brief, easy hike to a scenic lookout point at the entrance to Hakipuu Valley. From there, you'll be able to see the stunning landscape that will be your playground for the day; coral reefs in turquoise waters and lush forested valleys.

Receive a safety briefing and kayaking instruction from your adventure guide. Don your life vest and launch your boat into the glassy, protected waters of Kaneohe Bay. Paddle along Kualoa, which is listed on the National Register of Historical Places, past Mokoli'i island to the centuries-old Molii fishpond. This hidden gem was hand-built by the ancient Hawaiians as a place to keep a steady supply of ocean fish handy. It is now part of the private Kualoa Ranch and is not frequently accessed by tourists.

After departing the fish pond, continue to 'Secret Island', a secluded beach nestled in the island countryside. Paddle around at your leisure, walk on the beach or don your snorkel equipment and explore the area's underwater world. Enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch before returning to your launch point to end your day of discovery with drop-off at your Waikiki hotel.

The hike is pretty short. They take you about as high as they can, then you hike up to a small flat to look at Chinaman's Hat where you'll kayak to. Along the way you'll get information about Hawaii and it's native plants and animals. Once back down, you'll get out the kayaks and head toward Chinaman's Hat. It's much farther away than it looked earlier from above. You can do single or double kayaks. Other than a few big waves, there was nothing to it. Everyone made it and no one fell out. We ate sandwiches as soon as we got there, then went snorkeling. When snorkeling, there are tons of rocks that will cut you, especially when the waves get a hold of you. This is basically unavoidable if you want to see the fish. They use the rocks as cover. My wife and I had cuts on our feet, legs, and hands, but we saw some beautiful fish.

The guide was great and very friendly. The hike was neat and we got to see a few wild pigs on the path to the scenic lookout. The Kayaking was fun and an easy enough distance that you were not exhausted by the end we even saw a couple of turtles. The snorkeling however left a lot to be desired and was pretty disappointing. The sea was quite choppy that day so it made it difficult to look around much. Much of what was there also seemed to be quite dead. We only saw one fish and a few urchin. Make sure you bring water shoes so you can put your feet down whenever you need to. The lunch was fine enough a half a sandwich and small bag chips/ cookies and a drink. Overall worth the money, great if you want a short jaunt and nice views, but if your are looking for something combining the snorkeling to be great as advertised I would say do something else.

We loved this adventure! It may have been our favorite day on our trip, but it is so hard to pick favorites when you are in Hawaii! Matias was a friendly, knowledgable, and relaxed tour guide. His knowledge of the island, surfing, weather, and all things Hawaii was incredibly helpful. We used his recommendations for the rest of our trip. He was very happy to answer every question our small group threw at him. From the moment he pulled up to our Waikiki hotel for pick-up he made us feel welcomed, excited, and ready for the day! The photos we took and Matias took for us are the best photos we have from our trip to Oahu. The hike is more of a short walk, but the views were amazing. The kayaking is doable for all levels. The snorkeling was fun, but do not reserve this as your only snorkeling trip while on Oahu. We saw many fish, but we didn't see what we expected to see while snorkeling in Hawaii. We were very happy that we drove over to Hanauma Bay another morning to see all of the colorful fish you imagine you'd see in Hawaii. Overall, this trip is worth every penny. If you are looking for a relaxed, memorable adventure, reserve this one. If you are looking for something more intense, it seems this company also provides extreme biking and hiking tours!

Had a fantastic time. The short hike to a small plateau with breathtaking view was amazing as well as the kayaking to the little island. It is simply mind blowing looking back to the island. I also wanted to thank Matthias for the outstanding guideance throughout the day. Whenever we come back, we will definitely take you up on the mountain bike trip :-).
