Sushi-making class in Osaka with an expert instructor
Learn to roll sushi under the guidance of a licensed chef
Feast on a dinner of sushi, miso soup, and a Japanese omelet
Meet your professional instructor, a licensed chef, in central Osaka. From here, walk to a nearby home to start your sushi-making lesson, limited to just eight participants.
Follow along as your instructor demonstrates the preparations for making sushi rice, as well as rolling techniques to place "sashimi" (thin-sliced fish) and other ingredients inside the dried seaweed rolling paper, called "nori." Select ingredients offered by the chef and take your turn, allowing yourself a few tries to get the hang of things as you learn to master this uniquely Japanese art.
Then have a seat to enjoy your sushi rolls with the other guests. Your dinner is accompanied by miso soup, a Japanese omelet, and a selection of snacks. If you’d like, upgrade to include a local sake tasting with the option of Osaka-brewed beer to wash it all down. The tasting includes either six sakes or four sakes and one bottle of beer.
After your meal, enjoy a taiyaki for dessert. Once you’ve gotten sufficiently full, head back to the original departure point.

This was an excellent learning opportunity, and we loved the sushi that we made! Yayo's has a passion for teaching, and she exudes a thoughtful and welcoming essence. She was very generous during the class, and we left having our had expectations exceeded. The sake was great, and the sushi was super tasty, which was awesome because we now can make it at home!
I had a wonderful experience with Yayo. She is a very gracious & fun host who is patient and takes the time to explain things, including the history of why certain techniques are used. Yayo also provided information to take home around the items we prepared; I will get a chance to try these with my family. I highly recommend spending an evening with Yayo!
Lovely time spent with a lovely lady and her dog! It was just me in the class which was great to have 1 on 1 and the dishes were great! Loved making the egg roll and sushi. Would recommend to many but depends what kind of sushi you want to learn. This is a very simple class and you make basic things
This was definitely a highlight of our 2 week trip to Japan. It exceeded my expectations, and I am so glad we did this. I 100 recommend this sushi-making class! Yayo met us at the train station and walked us to her apartment. We had a lovely tea, and then proceeded to making a Japanese omelet, Yayo showed us how to make miso, and then we made our sushi. Beautiful, fun experience -- take this class, you will not regret it!!
