Trip was excellent start to finish. Tour guide Daniel from Best Trip Ecuador kept us entertained throughout with funny but yet insightful information. Both breakfast and lunch were excellent but most of all, it turned out to be a beautiful day offering clear views of the fantastic Volcano Cotopaxi. Very happy with the whole experience.
The tour guides were very informative and friendly. The breakfast and lunch was very delicious. The day we did our tour the weather was horrible!!! Very cold and windy so be sure to bring your winter coat, gloves, hiking boots and sunglasses. Very beautiful and you get to see an Alpaca and llamas.
Mauro and Carlos are the best, there was also a female tour guide that unfortunately cannot remember her name but she was very knowledgeable with the story of the Cotopaxi volcano history. She led the group to the "refugio" located at 15,953 ft above seal level and just below the top of the volcano's glacier. There is some serious hiking (trail) to get to the "refugio" it is steep but the guide will take you up slowly with plenty of stops to catch your breath. Great experience and highly recommended.
Good tour, but we had abyssmal weather on the mountain on our day. The elevation is also an issue. The air up there is skinny. The hike part is very hard if you're out of shape. Tour guides did their best to keep things interesting and fun.
The tour guide and the driver were both excellent, while not to mention Cotopaxi itself. However more detailed information should be given in advance, so people know how to be prepared for this surprise! We also have to say that lunch at about 5 pm is too late. Why not used the restaurant in the Park?
Our guide Fernando was punctual, fun and informative. Note that the tour was in both Spanish and English so some attention was required when the languages switched...
On the day of our visit, we were lucky that we could see the top of Cotopaxi. The hike was led by a local guide who was helpful. It was difficult due to lack of oxygen but I am glad that I made it. A good lunch was included in a lovely restaurant with a view of volcanoes but it was served at nearly 5pm! Luckily snacks were provided and indeed much needed....
