What To Expect

This is the Seattle sightseeing cruise that started it all.

Since 1949, this narrated harbor cruise has been a favorite attraction for millions of people, both visitors from afar and locals alike. Enjoy this sightseeing tour of Seattle’s historic waterfront, with seemingly never-ending views of the city skyline, the Great Wheel Ferris wheel, the Space Needle, the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges, and Mt. Rainier (weather permitting).

The ship typically features an enclosed lower deck with an open upper sun deck, certified for 250 travelers but generally accommodating between 75-150 guests.

A perfect hour with the weather and with the live narration by the gentleman named Kippy(?). A real eye opening experience to see and hear about the harbor region. I recommend staying on the second deck. It's a lot cooler. Overall the tour is very good. It's short for the amount of money you paid. But still it's was fun. There's food onboard for a cost.

A view of container ships, containers piled up, and view of the area where ships are maintenanced is not picturesque. I expected to see the shore and landscape that surrounds the harbor.

Unbelievably rude

I was right at the counter when the final bell rang and then the staff looks at me and says the docks are off. Extremely unreasonable. I was there exactly at 4:05 with my kid. And since I’m a tourist I can’t return to the same place again. Extremely disappointed. He did not allow me to board the cruise. He pretended I wasn’t there. You can check the cctv recordings for the day if need be. I was right in front of him when the last bell rang.

Even though we got lucky with the clear and midsummer-like weather with a perfect view of my. Rainier, our luck didn’t stop there. Unfortunately, I forget our guide’s name, but he taught our boat a lot about Seattle. He had a lot of spunk and charisma and seemed as though he enjoyed his job, making the experience much more enjoyable. I’ve always heard the best view of any city is from outside of it; with that said, this tour did not disappoint.

The tour was interesting especially seeing the Seattle Port up close. Parking and construction make it difficult to arrive on time. Make sure to get an early start. Would be nice to have a heads up from Viator
