A sightseeing tour of St Augustine has never been easier — or more fun — than this hop-on hop-off tour of the city.
We had a wonderful time in historic St. Augustine. We found the trolley ride very helpful to get information and to understand the layout of the city which we later explored on foot. The citiy’s early history is fascinating!
We road the trolley multiple times, getting on and off at various stops. During that time we had 4 drivers. Each provided good information on the city. Things we would have never known without taking the tours. W also had a threat of rain so they provided ponchos to all riders.
After I paid over $100 for the four of us to ride the trolley, I expected at least to be able to hear the guide. The first 15 stops we had a guide that I could not understand and who had a VERY unpleasant sing-songy vocal pattern, to boot. I could only just make out the part about keeping our hands inside the trolley and no smoking, vaping,or loud cell phone conversations we heard every time she left from a stop. I was annoyed and cranky wondering why anyone would be hired for this job who could not communicate well. In her favor, she was a good driver. However, I could have walked around for free and learned just as much. The SECOND half of the trip was a grand improvement. From stop 15 on, we had a driver who was personable, informative, and understandable! Such a difference! If I had it to do over again, I would have gotten off at the 2nd stop and tried my luck for a better guide. I suggested that, but couldn't convince my other three riders that it was worth the aggravation of getting off and back on. If you're just headed to a destination or want the convenience of ready transportation for the day, then it's a worthwhile expense; but if you're looking to listen to historical background, pick your drivers wisely!
This tour is worth every penny! Guides are informative, funny and helpful. They cover all areas of St Augustine and make it easy to park with out paying. Parking is expensive in St Augustine this elements the cost. Our last guide Davy Jones was so much fun and entertaining. It is great to be able to take the beach bus on the 1/2 hour and see the light house or have lunch on the beach. Most importantly they run on schedule. Thanks for helping make are time in St Augustine stress free.
Their were 8 in our group ranging in age from 25-69. We arrived late in the day and the ticket agent said we would use more of our booking fee if we waited until the next day, which was nice of her. We did and had an enjoyable day. We were here in January 2019.
