Half-day tour of Peterhof by boat
Cruise along the Neva River by hydrofoil (weather permitting)
Learn about historical and architectural features of the UNESCO World Heritage Site from your knowledgeable guide
Small-group tour limited to 6 people ensures a more personalized experience
Leave your hotel, and travel to the waterside behind St Petersburg’s Winter Palace where your boat awaits. Step aboard and take a sightseeing cruise by speedy hydrofoil, admiring city sights along the Neva River.
Hop off your boat at Peterhof estate, and head inside its Lower Park, home to more than 140 fountains in a setting reminiscent of Versailles Gardens. Stop for photos by the statue of Samson boldly holding a lion’s jaw open at the Grand Cascade, and admire other notable water features such as a fountain spouting with Chinese dragons.
Inside Peterhof itself, you’ll explore the lavish Grand Palace with its gilded statues and opulent furnishings. Learn about the palace’s history as you explore the richly ornate rooms.
From the palace, head to the Upper Garden for a stroll and see more fountains including the God of the Sea, a cascade statue that portrays Neptune. Beware of water features that were designed to soak guests… in particular a clever feature cunningly designed as an umbrella. It drips on whoever dares sit below it.
When your Peterhof tour ends, travel back to central St Petersburg and finish with a drop-off in the center.

We were very grateful to have our knowledgeable guide, Irena. She fast tracked us past the long lines and gave informative info on the history of Peterhof and each room in this beautifully restored palace and grounds.
We had a private tour of the palace and gardens and our guide was excellent throughout the entire tour. If you only had limited time to spend in St. Petersburg then put Peterhof to the top of list, I personally found it better then The Palace of Versailles in many ways, the restoration of the palace after being badly damaged after WWII is outstanding. Our tour last about 3 hours at the actual palace/gardens which only gives enough time to experience the main attractions, you would need days there to do this place justice.
A must see while in St Petersburg. The boat ride, is just the experience, but don't expect anything exciting of it and it is noisy that could be problem for small children.
The palace and the tour in general very good. Out guide was OK, at times she looked like very tired
Absolutely wonderful guide, I won't embarrass myself by trying to spell her name collected us from the hotel on time with our driver. She made the car journey very interesting pointing out many interesting locations en route. Her knowledge of the Peterhof was superb, as was her enthusiasm during the entire 4 hours or so we were with her. A genuinely lovely time with a delightful guide. Please pass our thanks to her. Thank you
The Palace tour by itself is very good. The English guide very knowledgeable. The fountan system reminds me of Tivoli, Italy. The Rooms of the Palace are magnificent.
But don't expect too much from the boat ride as it is just a return boat trip with general public. You just get a voucher to ride for free as you obviously already paid for the transport.
That's why it is a 4 star rating.
comfortable mini van took us from our hotel in central St Petersburg and took us to Peterhof some 30 minutes away. The tour of Peterhof was great but somewhat rushed only because a large group with us had another tour to catch and were adamant we see everything rather quickly. However, we managed to see everything that we wanted and had plenty of time to take pictures of the beautiful park and fountains around the estate. We got back to St Peterrburg by hydrofoil which was comfortable and quick offering another perspective of the city.
Our guide was good, I had a little trouble hard understanding with his hard accent,at first but he had a full english vocabulary. The other guests in our group misunderstood that the boat ride was only ONE WAY HOME... Not both ways. So they made a big stink which ruined OUR tour. Wish the tour was longer as our guide was very knowledgable and would liked to have gotten more info from him.
We thoroughly enjoyed this magnificent and beautifully restored palace. Illi our guide was knowledgeable, funny and made the experience a brilliant tour for us. Illi suggested a delicious restaurant we've since visited twice. Thank you for a great Russian experience.
Peterhof is must in Petersburg! But reserve for the whole trip more time because within the given time is only fast track! Visiting the Grand Palace is a bit marching tour be prepared for it. You will go through really beautiful rooms but in quite speedy mode because is it small and so many people want to see it. The gardens are really nice and great! You can spend there hours next time I will do so!
