Unfortunately, we picked a bus with open windows on the second deck..quite cold and windy on Sept. 9th. Also wifi didn't work and told one of the reps on board..took a while for it to get going..It worked for two minutes and gone again, so I just gave up.
Overall experience was good. The princess was attending some sort of ceremony and the route was blocked. So we had to buy the boat excursion to get back to the cruise ship. One note that the excursion fare was cheaper on shore than on-line price.
Cruise port, Stockholm 725am. Those with Viator vouchers were directed to another bus across the street to supposedly change our vouchers into tickets said the female blonde attendant in ponytail. Those who bought on site got to board the first bus and leave earlier. When we got to the other bus the attendant there said no need to change the vouchers and asked us to board the bus where we waited for 35 minutes before it left because we were not the only passengers. They were waiting for passengers from the other cruise line.
Inside the bus my foot snagged on one of the exposed cables on the floor around the seat area see photo.
12:15 pm stop 9, we waited with other cruise passengers.
1:05pm our party along with maybe 30 very irate cruise passengers were finally on our way back to the port. We waited for almost an hour, during which time 3 city sightseeing buses half empty already stopped by at short intervals, as compared to the lone red bus that was already full and could no longer accommodate us.
As background we booked Hop-On-Hop-Off buses in Stockholm, Tallinn and Helsinki. I can highly recommend this company over the other two experiences. Only downside, which was not the company's fault, was the top was closed because it was a rainy day. Otherwise, the tour gives you a good overview of Stockholm and options for getting on and off close to the downtown. We also used our pass to take a short boat ride from downtown over the the Vassar Museum not to be missed. I don't think the boat was included in our pass, but when we asked, they welcomed us on board anyway. I'll be more careful when booking tours in the future to use THIS COMPANY RED BUS and not the others.
