In this chance, it is replaced either by visiting the picturesque village of Litochoro (walk in the main traditional square) or by visiting the Holy Monastery of Saint Dionysus (visit to the old and the new one)

A really excellent and worthwhile day. Dimitri was a superb guide. Efficient whilst ensuring the day was a relaxing experience. A good mix of things to see and do and time to ‘be’ at this beautiful mountain. Thought provoking commentary - and not overdone. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

Viator, Ammon Express did not provide a professional guide for this tour. I had paid for transport and guide, had received a booking confirmation from a lady called Photini, who was meant to be the guide, and instead, the minibus driver played the guide.

George, the tour attendant, was very knowledgeable, friendly and giving us lots of tips during the tour on what to look for and why. He also gave us ample time to explore. Overall was a good day trip, good group size of 7, and very insightful to see the Dion's ruin and its glory. The walk and condition of the Enapeas gorge was bit disappointing, not much water/ snow so gorge was kind of dry. But was still a beautiful mountain view

Dion is a magical place. Set against the backdrop of Mount Olympus, its shrines and temples were much favoured by the ancient Macedonians. I particularly enjoyed the shrine of Isis, which is set in a watery grove, a little off the beaten track.
