Why Travelers Choose This Tour
This tour combines a trio of essential Venice experiences with the intimacy of a small group.
I took this tour in July 2019 with just 10 other people (mostly from the US). We began promptly at 08:30. Headsets were provided. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and appeared to know about all thing Venezia throughout the day. One thing to note - this tour is from 08:30 - 11:00, then stops for a 30 minute gondola ride, then resumes after an 'on your own break' near Piazza San Marco at 13:30. You then continue seeing the sights until approximately 16:00. This is in fact a full day tour, so be prepared to do a lot of walking! The gondola ride, while something you should experience while in the city, did not live up to expectations, but that's mostly luck of the draw, as the gondoleers are not managed by the tour company.
Our guide was excellent. She really knew all her history and information. She kept the group together and interested. The areas visited were excellent with sufficient time allocated. Surely when of my best guides and highly recommend her.
My daughter and I attended this tour while visiting on a short trip. Learned a lot about the city, saw a lot of the major attractions and got great recommendations on things to see on our own. Tour guide was amazing (history professor). Great experience and well worth the cost. Started at 8:30 and ended around 3:45 with a nice lunch break in the middle. Great tour.
Our tour guide, Sabrina, was just awesome. Her love for Venice was infectious and we loved learning all about the city, its history, and the people. We did the 8.5 walking tour which admittedly was an ambitious undertaking, but we felt like Sabrina brought Venice to life for us. Thanks Sabrina!!
A very well scheduled tour but our guide Matteo was amazing. He was so knowledgeable, organized and humorous. I have done many many tours and this is the first time every guest verbally commented as to how interesting he made the tour. Very impressed. Great job Matteo. Thank you
Our guide was brilliant - knowledgeable, interesting and friendly. The tour was excellent. The gondola ride not worth the bother - better to watch them from the bridges. The gondaliers are unchatty, unfriendly, jobsworths. They don't take you anywhere with anything worth seeing. Still, we all feel the experience has to had when in Venice. But the Basilica and the Doges Palace are worth visiting with the guide. A small group such as this is ideal in Venice. THe large groups are annoying to everyone else and i imagine must be a nightmare to keep up with in the narrow alley ways in Venice. The group was easy to find at the meeting place at the beginning. It was all very well organised. Impressive. I was very tired at the end of this full day of sightseeing.
This tour hits the major highlights and is great. However, our guide Lole is what made the tour perfect. Her knowledge of Venice is unprecedented, there wasn't one question asked that she didn't know the answer too and not only did she give the answer but provided extensive details. Her passion and excitement for the history of this beautiful place is so infectious.
