Choose between an afternoon or evening ride and then hop on the six-person gondola by a gondolier who is clad in traditional garb. Then begin the ride, as part of a group of eight different gondolas, with a singer aboard one of the boats. In addition to the song being sun to you, enjoy the sites of Venice's main landmarks, including the grand Canal and Palazzo Barberino.
35-minute Venice shared gondola flotilla ride and serenade
Ride on a six-passenger gondola along parts of the Grand Canal and smaller waterways
Listen to songs from a singer on board one of the gondolas in your flotilla
Drift by top Venice attractions such as Palazzo Barberino and Peggy Guggenheim Collection museum
Lose yourself in the romantic melodies as you soak up the passing sights
Choose from four afternoon and evening departure times to suit your schedule
You can walk around Venice. You could take a water taxi. But, really, there's only one way to get around La Serenissima, as this city of bridges and canals is nicknamed. And that way is by gondola. Decide to take one of four starting times when you book and then, on the day of the ride, head to the gondola pier at Piazza Santa Maria del Giglio in the center of Venice. After your arrival, hop on the shared six-seater gondola and sit back and let to your gondolier, clad in traditional clothing, cruise you through the wide and narrow, popular and offbeat canals through Venice. Each gondola holds six people and you will be part of a flotilla of eight gondolas floating together. See the city's main landmarks, including the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Grand Canal and various centuries-old palaces. At one point during the ride, a singer will board one of the boats and begin crooning traditional Venetian tunes as you float along the canals. Sit back and let your ears take in the gorgeous songs and lose yourself in the sound and the look of Venice. After about 35 minutes of floating through this magical city, return to the pier where your gondola ride finishes.
We were quite disappointed with this experience.
The guide was very unfriendly! The guide spoke very loudly on his cell phone for the entire trip - so we could not hear the serenade singer.
The trip was about 20 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
This was very expensive and poor value for money
My exceptions were a gondola ride with my husband and to be serenaded. Well, there were 4 other people in our Gondola and 8 Gondolas with ONE person serenading all EIGHT gondolas and he was in the last Gondola. NOT romantic not worth paying over 100 dollars. and 2 people walked up on got in their own Gondola for $80.00, though not serenaded.
We took a serenaded gondola ride around the Grande Canal and little side canals at twilight. The children, including teenagers, in our party loved it and pleaded to go again during our stay. Don't miss this, great value!
This trip was very nice. Expect to stand in a line, even though you have a reservation. Also expect to be with about 4 other people in your boat.(Those in our boat were a little loud and rowdy) I would recommend this trip, as the views were lovely, and the ride was long. It was great when it got dark, and the narrow canals were lit. We really enjoyed ourselves. Also, be sure to find the location early, as it was a little tricky to find.
Great experience for a first trip to Venice! Highly recommend the gondola ride late afternoon that includes a serenade. Just keep in mind the gondola accommodates 6 people and the person singing will do so for 3-4 gondolas at the same time. All said, it is well worth it.
The Gondola ride and Sernade was beautiful. However the people who helped us get on the Gandola's were rude and the queing system was confusing and not explained propelry. Me and my mum were annoyed and confused as we asked the staff and they just pointed and said sit anywhere and wait in a very rude way.
