Overview

See the top attractions of Wellington on a hop-on hop-off minibus tour that follows a route throughout the capital city and its outskirts. You can hop off at any of the stops to explore points of interest such as Mt. Victoria Lookout, Wellington Zoo, Wellington Botanic Garden, or the Te Papa Museum on your own. Your guide points out sights such as Parliament and the cable car on this group tour that can accommodate up to 20 people.
  • Hop-on hop-off tour of Wellington by minibus
  • Choose to disembark at any of the convenient stops to visit specific sights in depth
  • Explore the natural world at Zealandia, Wellington Zoo, or the Botanic Gardens
  • Stop for photo ops at the top of Mt. Victoria where you get great views overlooking Wellington
  • Hear informative commentary onboard the minibus from your friendly and knowledgeable guide
Start your hop-on hop-off minibus tour at the Wellington i-Site Visitor Centre. Your guide makes a brief photo stop at Mt. Victoria, but you can disembark at any of the 10 stops to visit a site in more depth on your own.

View interactive exhibits on Maori culture at the Te Papa Tongarewa, a premier museum; delve into Wellington’s maritime history at the award-winning Museum of Wellington; discover New Zealand wildlife at Zealandia or the Wellington Zoo; or stroll Wellington Botanic Garden.

Your ticket is valid for the day of purchase (tickets purchased for the last departure of the day are also valid for the following day), and your driver can tell you when the next minibus arrives to take you to the next location. If you’d like to check out great cafés, restaurants, and shops, disembark at chic Courtenay Place, bohemian Cuba Precinct or the gorgeous waterfront around Oriental Bay. Wellington offers so much to explore, you may not want to leave.

Wellington HOHO staff friendly and knowledgeable, prompt. Value for money way to get around. Saw what we wanted to and no troubles with buses or times.

We enjoyed the city. We had beautiful weather for walking. Enjoyed walking down the Botanical gardens, with the added enjoyment of eating lunch at the beautiful rose gardens.Enjoyed the waterfront and the entire ride around the city. Drivers were informative and polite.,

great trip. I nearly missed the bus because I didn't take notice of all the info and had it in my hand can you believe. when I saw bus (mini van) about to take off and passengers saw me waving frantically at the driver whilst running along the centre of a busy road. I thoroughly enjoyed it. a great day out with time to go about the city centre afterwards and on the cable car beforehand and to the botanic gardens from the cable car.

Used Wellington Hop-On-Hop-Off bus tour - had the amazing "Sue" whose knowledge of Wellington and surrounding area was phenomenal - The tour had 10 different stops which had an attraction suited for one and all - Highly recommend.

Comprehensive city coverage.

Surprisingly complete tour of the city leaves the traveler with a good overview. We had changes of guide as we went - one was exceptional and another barely on the learning curve.

This is a Hop-On Hop-Off Bus

The tour is poorly run; "tour guide" is the bus driver with limited value, no speaker in rear of bus we rode, cursory comments that were very superficial, hard to follow. I have ridden H-O H-Off buses all over UK and Europe. This was the poorest. Lesson learned, won't do it again. Unfortunately, tried H-O H-Off again in Picton. The wine tour conceptually would work. It is admittedly hard to combine driving and "tour guide". We waited 45 minutes just to buy a ticket. The bus company was obviously overtaxed with a large cruise ship in port. People sat on the bus, afraid to get off at a winery after waiting a long time at an earlier one. Sadly, staff seemed more capable than this experience. You can either rent a car or hire a driver at the information center for less money and have a better outcome. Lesson learned here.

Thank you for your feedback. Our tour guides do drive and provide commentary at the same time as we feel it provides a more interactive experience for our passengers. The issue with the speaker has since been rectified. We do not run or have any association with the the HOHO company in Picton. -Laura
