Trip Inspiration
Home to around 1,400 animals, the Emirates Park Zoo is situated on the northeast outskirts of Abu Dhabi and makes an engaging destination for nature-loving families and visitors of all ages. The zoo houses mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and birds, and offers an inspiring space for visitors to have fun learning about animal life.
The Emirates Park Zoo is divided into 11 color-coded zones, including Wildlife and Bird Parks, a Petting Zoo, Reptile House, Aquarium, Snake Alley, and more. Follow the walkways to see the zoo’s prized white tigers, cheetahs, lions, and elephants; gaze at giraffes, crocodiles, snakes, camels, and sharks; and view an array of exotic birds. Visitors can also learn about wildlife from zoo professionals, let the kids loose in a play zone, and enjoy bonus activities such as a zipline and rope walk circuit, elephant feeding, and camel rides for an additional cost.
To save vacation time in the UAE, buy your admission ticket online in advance, and select from a variety of animal encounters, shows, and activities.
The Emirates Park Zoo is ideal for families and visitors interested in wildlife and conservation.
Bring sunscreen and a hat, and wear comfortable shoes.
Cafés are dotted around the zoo and serve everything from Arabic meals to orange juice and candy.
Restrooms, a crèche, and a prayer room are available in the grounds.
The zoo is wheelchair-accessible and stroller-friendly.
The zoo is situated in Abu Dhabi’s Al Bahya district, a short distance from the Abu Dhabi-Dubai E11 highway. Plan for a 30-minute drive from Abu Dhabi or a 45-minute road trip from Dubai. On-site parking is available at no extra cost. A number of buses from central Abu Dhabi and Ferrari World stop at, or near, the zoo.
The Emirates Park Zoo is open every day, including public holidays. Opening times are 9am-8pm from Sunday to Wednesday, 9am-9pm Thursday to Saturday and on public holidays. The zoo is particularly popular in the afternoon, especially during weekends.
If you can, time your visit for late in the afternoon for a better chance of seeing various animals. This is when many of them move around more after sleeping and resting in the shade during the midday hours.
