History tells us early Charlestonians had a healthy relationship with the Pirates.
This is a lie.
Early Charlestonians didn't have a healthy relationship with the pirates! Early Charlestonians were the Pirates!
This is an exploration of Charleston and a discussion and discovery of piracy's impact on the birth of the city and our nation.
We start our history trip at Oyster Point and make our way through the old fortress into the heart of the city marketplace. Along the way, we will walk the streets and alleys that the Pirates of America roamed.
We'll hear the story of the greatest American Pirate no-one has ever heard of and the women who show up in history manning the helms of pirate fleets. Along with them, we'll hear the story of the Pirate who's actions had a direct impact on the birth of America.
Together, they are the early Charlestonian pirates, and here is where they gave birth to America.
What could be better than a food tour combined with a ghost tour? Nothing! You will meet your guide in downtown Charleston for exclusive access to our haunted restaurants. We will visit up to 4 haunted restaurants and multiple haunted buildings along a walking route of downtown.
At the restaurants, we have set up 1-3 food tastings per location. We will have private areas in dining rooms, bars, haunted basements, and pretty much anywhere we can find to sample food, spirits, and hear ghost stories. We will visit other historic and haunted buildings along the route and tell stories and give your bellies a few minute break from the samples.

Charleston is home of the supernatural, paranormal, and existential: 350 years of graveyards, ghosts, and ghouls in a drinking town with a history problem.
Starting at one of Charleston's more notorious watering holes, an upscale dive, we will start our paranormal exploration at the bar. Our story begins with the tale of George Washington's "Witch Doctor," a Charlestonian woman who saw the future.
From there, we will venture to the "Witch Doctor's" final resting place. Along the way, we will walk through a gunfighter's alley where 100's of men lost their lives, and learn to feel a spirit when it passes your way.
Lastly, we will stop at another notorious watering hole where we will learn about the slave who had to die for America to be born and how her spirit still roams the streets of Charleston today. Once you hear this ghost story, your heart will beat twice every time you see the American Flag.
