The Basics

Most visitors reach the active volcano on Nea Kameni, whose crater continues to rumble and puff out steam, by way of a boat tour departing from the town of Oia, the Old Port of Fira, or the Athinios port on Santorini’s main island. Once on the island, you can hike up to the crater’s rim and take in the views across lava fields to Greece’s Aegean Sea. Caldera Half Day Tour (Volcano, Hot Springs, Thirassia)

Comfortable boat, seating in shade for those avoiding the sun. We'll run and informative guide who translated into 4 languages. Volcano trip worth the walk up and guided tour if preferred. Great views of craters and all around. Then onto the Hot (Luke warm) springs for 20/30 swim then Tharasia for lunch. 6 hours trip, back on land by 1630, helpful crew, great value for money.

Caldera Half Day Tour (Volcano, Hot Springs, Thirassia)

Had plenty of time to explore the volcano and therasia. Did not have much time to swim at the hot springs. The springs were 25 degrees so warm rather than hot as described by the tour guide. The prices are probably the cheapest with this operator. Make sure to jump off for the hot springs early so you get enough time to swim. If you are the last to climb down into the water, you will barely make it to the beach.

The yacht was fancy and there was enough space for everyone. The crew was very friendly and responsive to our needs. The food was good. The drinks were okay but we wish there was more variety in the drinks like champagne. No sunset which was unfortunate but still a great experience in Santorini.

Santorini Volcano & Hot Springs Tour

This was a wonderful opportunity. I took off one star because I had different expectations of the two tours. I wish I had known that the hike up the mountain required a bit of athleticism that I wasn't prepared for and the hot spring is not the type you soak in. You jump or climb down from the boat and swim to it and the hot spring is only 5 degrees or so warmer than the cold water you jumped/climbed into.
