The guests will vist the Guano Platform between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. After they will visit the lagoon where many Flamingos can be viewed. After they will visit the Salt Water Mine in Walvis bay. The guests will climb Dune 7 as a fun activity. Finally the guest will cool down at Moon Valley Resort and Spa with a nice swim.
Cape cross is a small headland in the South Atlantic in Skeleton Coast, western Namibia, on the C34 highway some 60 kilometres north of Hentiesbaai and 120 km north of Swakopmund on the west coast of Namibia.
A full day 4x4 adventure trip departing from Walvis Bay at 08H30( pick up from location requested ) to the Sandwich Harbour Area after a short break at the Walvis Bay Lagoon to view some flamingoes and salt works, you will proceed to the Kuiseb river delta, a dry riverbed where the odd springbok may be seen. Beautiful dunes will have to be crossed to get to Sandwich Harbour. If weather and tides allow, you will drive right to the Sandwich Harbour Lagoon, one of Southern Africa’s richest and unique wetlands. If our vehicles cannot drive all along the beach to get to Sandwich Harbour because of the tides, you will get a chance to see the lagoon area from one of our many beautiful lookout spots and will have the time to walk and explore the Sandwich Harbour Area. Lots of time are granted for photograph. A light picnic lunch with some cold beverages in the breathtaking scenery can be expected before returning through the dunes for some more adventure.
Viewing the extensive bird life in the Ramsar Convention Walvisbay Wetlands where up 250000 birds can be seen from time to time, to the many Seals in the seal colony including huge Bulls and Pups, to the magnificent views Sandwich Harbor, where Sea meets Dunes, and the surrounding Dunes have to offer, together with the adrenaline evoking skillful dune driving by the guide, the pure passion and enthusiasm the guide portrays of this beautiful scenic but harsh area.
