A very good trip all round - although it's a 6 hour round trip by coach it was good to see the suburbs of Athens and the countryside en route to Delphi. Our guide gave us plenty of background information during the journey to the site. The tour of the site was really good despite not being able to visit the stadium due to land fall in the copious winter rains. The museum was excellent. The lunch site was pleasant but the food very average - a welcome break nonetheless. Recommended tour - for those interested in the ancient world.
We enjoyed the tour of the ruins and the museum, and the lunch that followed. It was raining on the day that we went, so we were not able to see the stadium due to the path being closed. Our guide was very informative and friendly. I wish we would also have had an opportunity to see the Tholos.
Hotel pickup wasted a lot of time. 90 minutes. Six hours of travel for three hours of tour not counting hotel pick up. Guide was fluent in English but her acsent made it difficult to understand. Large group of 42. Would not recommend
The site was spectacular and worth seeing even with the long drive. However two things they could do to improve. The guide while knowledgeable had a pretty heavy accent and a very soft voice so hard to hear. Not just me but most. Should have also give more time to see the amphitheater and stadium. Only had 25 minutes after the visit to the temple. Needed about 45. and tour should have at least gone to the base of the amphitheater. I would also say no young kids or people that can't walk easily and take steps
We loved Delphi but the group was an entire large bus with one guide and it was so large and Delphi was so crowded, we had a hard time following and hearing our guide. I am not faulting our guide but I would not book another tour if it was to be a large group like this one again.
The pick up was a bit late and we had to change to a different bus but the drive there was amazingly beautiful. The guide was really informative mixing history and myth. The actual site was stunning! It was really crowded though and I think that annoyed the tour guide. The museum was ok though. FYI don’t book with lunch they’ll drop you off at the town of Delphi where my friends and I found a really good souvlaki place that was a really decent price.
Enjoyed the tour, very informative and friendly tour guide. It was a large group, so there was some waiting around for people. We opted for the lunch at the Hotel Amalia - very nice Greek salad and vegetable sides, chicken was okay. All in all a very nice day! Would definitely recommend.
