A New Way to See the City

Best of Chiang Mai by Bicycle | Dec 2019
This tour was very cool. One thing I was worried about when taking a 12 mile bike ride was sitting on a bike for so long. I did not have any issues with this because the bikes and helmets they provide are very high quality. They also gave us some drinking water to bring along. However, it is still a 12 mile bike ride, so prepared for the exercise that entails. Our guide, Palm, was very nice and taught us a lot about the temples and areas we visited. The biking provided a great way to see the temples and city. The temples do have a dress code they enforce. Women need pants that cover the knees and shirts that cover the shoulders and back. Men can wear shorts that cover the knees and t shirts, but no hats. My wife did bring some pants to take on and off over shorts at the temples, because it would be very hot riding bikes around Thailand in pants. Only thing you really need to bring is some drinking water you may want and clothes to follow the dress code.

4 days of Phun!

4-Day Bike Tour of Cambodia's Pepper Route from Phnom Penh | Jun 2019
We had a fantastic time on this trip. Our flight was delayed getting out of Australia so we missed our connection in Malaysia and our first night in Phnom Penh. However, we caught the early flight on the day our tour was scheduled to start and we were greeted at the airport by our awesome guide, Mr Sim. Within 5 minutes, we were in the van with the bikes and cold drinks and on our way! We were always prepared to be in a larger group, but lucky us, we had a private tour! Our guide was very friendly and helpful every step of the way. We had breaks every 10kms or so and our driver, Mr King was ready with cold drinks, fresh fruit and other packaged snacks. We felt safe and looked after the whole trip. We learned much about the history of Cambodia both ancient and recent. Very enlightening and informative with so many little surprises along the way. One big surprise, US Dollars were accepted literally everywhere. We sampled so many interesting foods in the four days of the tour. The riding was mostly flat terrain, but there were a few hills to contend with, particularly on the last day. In my opinion, the heat was a much bigger factor, but being able to go at whatever pace we wanted made the riding very enjoyable. We started around 8am and we generally finished around 12 or 1, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy each location we stayed in. We found the Cambodian people to be very friendly and helpful. We plan to return another time.

Greeted by my host/ guide Mr Palm on a extremely early but sunny Sunday morning I was immediately informed that I was the only rider! After adjusting bike seat and fitting helmet we were off. Palm took time to explain each monument and place with dates littered with personal experiences. The pace was quite smooth with regular stops in the market and along the road with some local sweets and fruits thrown in. The 5 hour tour pas from the city centre to the suburbs.

4-Day Bike Tour of Cambodia's Pepper Route from Phnom Penh | Jan 2019
Great trip around country roads to experience the local way of life guided by an experienced local guide, Panya, who explained the culture, beliefs and history of his country. Our driver, Dum, supported us with cold drinks, snacks and bicycle repairs. Our accommodation had character and was comfortable and the food that Panya chose for us was excellent - locally sourced seafood and traditional dishes eaten in superb locations. Unfortunately rain interrupted our cycling on Bokor mountain. Panya and Dum's enthusiasm towards our trip really made it a success for us.

Exploring Historic Ayutthaya by Bike | Feb 2018

This was an absolutely fabulous excursion. Both our guide, Bottle, and the driver were extremely friendly. The riding is very easy and the bikes are good quality. We hopped on the bikes and then stopped one by one at several different sites so that it was broken up. We also got to ride on small roads through town which was very interesting. We were provided water bottles and given several opportunities to fill up with fresh water. We were also provided snacks. The lunch on the river was excellent. We were able to share several tasty dishes. Ayutthaya is a really amazing place with a lot to see. I wish we could have gotten a little more information from the guide but someone did need to stay behind and guard the bikes. We could not have chosen a better way to wrap up our trip in Thailand.

Bike Day Trip from Luang Prabang | Sep 2017

Laos is a beautiful country, with beautiful scenery and people, we were eager to experience the real Laos by bicycle alas, for my fit 79 year old husband and I, the bicycle ride was not a suitable way to do that. The bikes themselves had what could best be described as racing seats thin and hard and whilst the bikes are rugged, the tracks are even more so. Given that we had given our ages, I am 55 years old, it would have been a good idea to tailor the ride around that and kept to easy tracks and shorter distance rides. It was 34 degrees with 90 humidity and we were ploughing through mud and rutted roads, it was just no fun in any sense of the word. The good things were to be able to buy school supplies locally and take them to a local school for them to give out as prizes, to sample sticky rice cooked in bamboo and prepared over an open fire, visiting the local paper making village and our guide was at all times helpful and very knowledgeable it may have been a good idea to have another tail end Charlie guide so that they could ensure that if we did come to grief, that help was on hand immediately, bad things have already been listed and don't need to be dwelt upon, next time we will organize a guided motorised trip.

Jungle Cycling Tour from Bangkok | Feb 2017

It was a fantastic experience. Tony, our guide, was so personable, gracious and fun!!! He took us to beautiful sites off the beaten path. Anytime we wanted to take a photo, we would stop to do so. We took breaks along the way and Tony treated us to fresh fruit and some homemade ice cream. The people of Bangkok were very friendly and welcoming. The bike tour was the highlight of our trip to Asia and Tony was the icing on the cake. A tour not to be missed.

Jungle Cycling Tour from Bangkok | Oct 2016

Would recommend this tour. It does get very humid in the jungle so be prepared for that and some of the paths are quite narrow so need to be a competent rider, you can always walk your bike through these sections though. An enjoyable afternoon.

This was a really good tour. The guide was lovely and did not short cut, as I was the only person on the tour. Win went over and beyond to please and he did. The bike was safe and in good condition a helmet provided as promised. Overall very happy. Big thank you to you Win and I hope you see this review and you are given some appreciation.

Best of Chiang Mai by Bicycle | Jul 2016

Good value, great fun with an enthusiastic and knowledgabel guide Ton. Bikes were in good order and the pace was good but suitable for everyone. Also felt very safe in the busy Chiang Mai traffic. It was also nice to get out of the city to see some interesting cultural sites. No hesitation in recommending this bike tour.
