We booked a private tour with Tervette tours. The owner picked us up and gave us the best tour ever. She took us to all the sites on our list and was very knowledgable about the questions we asked. We saw far more in a day than most people see in three days. Very satisfied with the professional way the tour was conducted.
We booked a private tour for our group of 8. I had communicated with them about our expectations and they were great at communicating. We did however, ask for a nice beach and a local spot for lunch. We were dropped off at the biggest tourist beach and restaurant for lunch - we had to pay to get a cab back to the shopping area (we didn't stay at the beach once we got in and saw how crowded and touristy it was.) They then took us to some really tiny restaurant that we didn't like, so we gave up and walked back to the ship and never ate or shopped in Barbados. And that was a huge disappointment. But we did see the monkey's and the island.
A review like this one that is not completely true, doesn’t give us justice.
I, Yvette owner of Terrvette Tours and Taxi service was the clients contact person, driver and tour guide on this day.
I reached out to client via whats app on Monday June 3rd 2019 to reconfirm private customized 4 hour tour. The client request for the tour day in her exact words via whats app were to go somewhere to see the monkeys, to see some beautiful beaches, shopping and lunch at a local spot. (Lead traveller NEVER mention going to A nice small beach) This day in question there were 2 ship in port and all the beaches would have had a lot of tourist, which means that the Harbour Lights beach was a number #1 stop for cruise port passengers.
This is our itinerary….for the tour day Friday June 14th 2019
Cruise port (pick up as to be at 8:30 am, 2 clients were on time at the meeting point and the others turned up at 8:45 am) So already we are 15 mins late.
I discussed with clients before we left the cruise port if the itinerary, she requested was still the same or if they were any changes. She said the itinerary is the same.
Our first stop was in Speightstown for photo op, washroom, bakery and coffee.
Next stop was Animal Flower Cave for a beautiful view and photo op.
When it was time to go and I went to get everyone together, 2 of the clients had bought tickets unknown to me and were about to go into to the cave for the cave tour which takes approximately 30 - 45 mins. This was not good at all I said to myself, however its their day and they must have discussed it with the group. When the cave tour was finished and everyone back on board the vehicle, I called the Wildlife Reserve to see if the monkeys were being fed at 11:00 am and they were so we are now off to the Wildlife reserve.
We got to the Wildlife Reserve at 10:55 am just in time for the feeding of the monkeys. Perfect I said to myself and the monkeys were there also.
Yes clients had to pay the Wildlife Reserve as attraction fees are not included in the cost of the Private Customised Tour 4 hour tour.
When they came up from the feeding of the monkeys it was approximately 11:30 am. This is not good I said to myself.
Which gives them now approximately 1 hour and 15 mins left to the tour.
I told them how much time we had left and gave them 2 options (1) we can go to the local lunch stop at Sand Dunes and then back to the ship OR (2) go to view one more beautiful beach Bathsheba and then over to Harbour Lights Beach (Carlise Bay) which has chairs and umbrellas that they can rent, swim and have a local lunch there.
They all agreed with # (2) and that they would want a 2:00 pm pick up from Harbour Lights to go back to the cruise port.
We headed straight to Bathsheba along the east coast of the island, where they took photos had rum punch and washroom stop. We left Bathsheba beach at 12:15 afternoon and headed straight to Harbours Lights.
Reaching Harbour Lights approximately 1:00 pm.
We all disembarked the vehicle, and I walked with them over to Harbour Lights, I told the lady at the desk entrance at Harbour lights that they will need a driver to take them back to the ship around 2:00 pm. The lady said she would take care of them.
The lady at the desk took my name and number in case they were any challenges. Then I proceeded to take them and show them around Harbour Lights. I thanked everyone for using our services and I was showed appreciation verbally and monetary by 3 couples and not by Shari Nomady the lead traveller. This was the end of their tour with me we were approximately ½ hour over the tour time. I didn’t ask for more money for the extended time, as long as they were happy that was all that mattered to me.
At this time no one in the group said anything to me about not liking the atmosphere of Harbour Light.
Approximately 1:13 pm I received a call for the lead traveller Shari Nomady requesting to be picked up as they are not pleased with the spot and that they would like to go shopping in Bridgetown instead and that they will find somewhere in the town to have lunch. I told her I was very sorry and why didn’t she say something to me when I was showing them around Harbour Lights. I would have suggested a plan B, there is always a plan B.
I could not collect them myself as I was off to a family memorial which they all knew about.
I called and requested a driver to assist them. The driver collected them. I am not sure what conversations or request they had with the driver that took them to Bridgetown.
The driver said that the clients didn’t pay him for the transfer to Bridgetown and he was very upset.
When I asked Shari about why she didn’t pay the driver she said that she taught that it was all included because they paid a lot of money to Viator for the tour.
I told her when I dropped them off at Harbour lights that was the end of their tour with me and any other transportation they used they should have paid the driver that transported her to Bridgetown. So the driver was never paid, not sure why she would say that she paid the driver above in her review. When she never paid the driver.
After reading the days outing everyone can draw their own picture.
Life is too short………………..
Tervette tours did a wonderful private tour of Barbados for us in one day. We had a list of sites and we were able to see all of them. Our driver was one of the owners, and she was knowledgeable and professional, as well as pleasant to talk to throughout our tour. Perfect Day!
We were very pleased with our driver, Sam who drove us around the island. He was very flexible and happy to show us the places we requested. This island is by far one of the most beautiful, and we were able to enjoy so many more sites than a big group could have seen. Thanks to Sam for a safe and fun day! Most pleased!
Excellent best describes the service provided by Terrvette. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. Yvette was friendly and knowledgeable and showed us everything we wanted to see during our very pleasant day with her. We wouldn't hesitate to book them again and highly recommend them.
Yvette was very helpful and tailored our trip to fit in with what we wanted to see. Having a driver who was willing to answer probably dumb questions about her homeland was extremely useful. We had a great time.
We so enjoyed our tour with Yvette of Terrvette Tours and Taxi service. The main reason we booked with this tour is because we were arriving in Barbados with our luggage at 6am and we couldn't board our ship until 1pm and didn't have a place to leave our luggage to take a tour. So thanks to Yvette who said we could bring our luggage to include an incredible tour of the island. Yvette was amazing, she was so knowledgeable about the island and so flexible with the itinerary! She took us to the Harrison Cave, Flower Forest, Bathsheba and along the coast to see incredible sights. We also went to see St. John's Church with it's incredible view of the ocean. Yvette was so helpful and attentive. She also picked us up after our cruise and made sure we go to the airport on time. She was so accommodating! We would highly recommend her for a fabulous tour and considerate attention. She is an asset to the tour business on Barbados.
Amazing! This tour was awesome it's a family run business and both are very knowledgeable about the island and it's history. Will take you wherever you want to go and each tour is customized based on what you want. Very comfortable ride and also had refreshments. Would recommend this tour to anyone.
