Simply hop aboard the open-top, double-decker City Sightseeing bus and set off to explore the ancient, medieval and modern sights of beautiful Barcelona. Sit back into your comfortable seat and enjoy the 360-degree views and informative onboard audio commentary as you weave your way through Barcelona's elegant avenues, pretty squares, medieval lanes and palm-lined waterfronts. Switch between the three different bus routes as you wish to explore different areas and aspects of the city, and stay aboard for each full 2-hour or 40-minute loop to gain an overview of the city’s sights and landmarks. When you’re ready, hop off at any of the total of 44 stops and explore the attractions by foot, at your leisure. Perhaps meander around the medieval alleys of the Gothic Quarter; stop off to visit the extraordinary UNESCO-World Heritage-listed La Sagrada Familia church designed by the late, great architect Antoni Gaudi; or soak up the lively atmosphere, shops and street theater along the vibrant Las Ramblas. Alternatively, hop off to visit some of Barcelona’s cultural hotspots, such as the Picasso Museum, or to take a stroll around Port Olímpic, the picturesque palm-dotted marina crowned by giant copper fish sculpture by Frank Gehry. These are just a sprinkling of the many things you can see and do during your hop-off hop-on tour! Your City Sightseeing pass gives you unlimited travel on all three routes for your choice of 1 or 2 days. Buses depart from each stop every 10 to 25 minutes. See the Itinerary for a list of stops on each of the three routes.
We only had 2 days to see all of Barcelona as we were in transit between cruise an flight. NEVER been to Barcelona before and thought this was best way of getting to as many sites as possible. Weren't disappointed. Wish we had booked longer stay. This is a first class city and will make sure we will visit again. Great value for price.
We enjoyed using the Hop On Hop Off bus but we were led to believe, by the travel agent, that the ticket started from when you initially boarded the bus and lasted for 48
hours from that time. However we discovered that this was not the case
when we tried to board the bus within
the 48 hours. This sent us into a panic as we needed to get
to our destination at an appointed
time . Unfortunately this then left us to our own devises to find alternative transport with no help whatsoever from your customer information kiosk. Can you please clarify this to customers when they make their booking that this ticket is for 1 or 2 days and definitely not 24 or 48 hours to make them aware of this in advance. In the UK the ticket lasts 24 or 48 hours from when you initially board the bus.
A bit of a shaky start with long queues and a broken sound system (no audio guide) so had to wait for another bus. Once we got going though I really enjoyed it. Good tour information on the audio guide too.
Only other drawback was the amount of people eating and drinking on the bus even though it was specified that food and drink wasn't allowed. Staff didn't seem that bothered but I didn't really want to see people stuffing their faces.
If you want a quick look at what the City offers, this is a good deal. It helps you decide how you plan your day. It is a good way to spend your first few days upon arrival as your body iis still adjusting from a long flight. I have used it also as a "transportation" to be in meeting places for booked tours.
This is a very good idea to be able to see all the main tourist attractions in a French/Spanish speaking country
They have headphones in your language just select the number on the wall where you plug your headphones in👍
We did not get lost due to the language on signs You can pick the colour bus and swap to the next one
I always take Hop on Hop off tours when I am in a new city. I did this here, too, but I found that the buses were full, and sometimes it was only standing room, therefore no audio guide, no safety, not a pleasant experience. We were tired of walking. We would have like to sit down and enjoy. And the second thing I really did not like - not too many explanations, just a lot of elevator music. I would have liked to have rich commentaries for such a rich city.
Easy to book online, good value for money. Red and blue routes cover all the main sights and give you a good overview of what Barcelona has to offer. We didn't have to wait any longer than 10 mins for a bus to come along and got on and off several times during the day. Excellent audioguide and map supplied. Would recommend!
