After morning pickup at your Barcelona accommodation, travel with your guide about 1 hour to reach the colorful city of Girona. During the drive, learn about Girona’s long and rich history, from its ancient Roman roots through a thriving medieval era and evolution into a hip, modern Spanish city. When you arrive, explore Old Town on a walking tour that takes you past landmarks like the Girona Cathedral and an iron bridge designed by famous French engineer Gustave Eiffel. Get a sense of life in medieval Spain while wandering through the city’s labyrinthine Jewish quarter, and rest your feet over a cup of coffee in a charming Old Town cafe. Continue on to the small town of Figueres, located near the French border. Best known as the birthplace of surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, Figueres honors the legacy of its famous former resident with the Dalí Museum — designed by the artist himself and considered the world’s largest surrealist object. Explore Dalí’s life and work through the museum’s collection of his dimension-bending paintings and other original artifacts (entrance fee not included). Relax on the return drive through the countryside to Barcelona, where the 10-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point in the evening.

What a great experience!

This tour was amazing! It was a group of 6 so the size was perfect! Girona was wonderful filled with so much history & lovely surroundings. Figures (home of the Dal Museum)
was a treasure city! The Dali museum was fabulous. Such an interesting man with such incredible artistic ability. Last of all Vicente was
Fantastic! What a professional & knowledgeable guide. You are lucky to have such a great employee! Kudos to you!
This is the way to do a guided tour. Pick up at your hotel (on time), only 3 couples, and a guide that really knows the country, city, and artist. Little things like dropping you off at a cafe so you can get and c and use the washroom room while the guide parks the car.
The walking tour of Girona was very well done. The guide was very knowledgeable, and knew which parts to have a look at. As this tour is only a half day in Girona you do not get time for a leisurely tour of the whole city, but what was covered was done very well
Then on to the Dali museum where again the guide's knowledge and preparation made for an excellent and insightful tour. The guide knew where the hidden 'gems' were, and had photo's on his phone to highlight aspects of Dali's works.
An excellent tour.
These are two places you should not miss when in Spain Our tour guide Ben was so knowledgeable, well versed in both areas, patient and just fun to be with. Would tour anyplace with him! Girona was a surprise....beautiful old village, lots of walking steps but it is up to you as to how much you want to do. Where scenes from The Game of Thrones were shot. Lovely winding streets with unusual shops-friendly shop keepers.Old Jewish temple, city walls, bridge by Gustav Eiffel. Dali museum was amazing.Ben was so insightful into how is early life and then time with Gala influenced his art. Ben told the entire history with side stories that made the Dali artwork make sense. Would take a tour anywhere with him! What a nice gentleman.
Mother Nature was the only negative on this entire tour experience. Watch the weather; bring small umbrellas if it looks like it might rain. Orial was our tour guide, and he did a fantastic job (clearly Viator hires different people for this tour, so you’re not sure who you will get, hence the mixed tour guide names and reviews). Orial was so good, there were people outside of our small tour group that would listen in on what he had to say; both in Girona and at the Dali Museum. He stood out everywhere we went as someone who was very knowledgeable. Orial showed up at our hotel just five minutes late which was better than I expected. We had seven in our group, and the tour van was very comfortable.
We were lucky enough to have taken this tour during Girona’s Flower Festival. Because of this, there were many areas open to the public that normally are not. Girona is a city that is a must see if you’re staying in Barcelona and want to go to the Dali Museum. It was much larger a town than I expected, and is very beautiful and gothic. A few locations in the filming of Game of Thrones were pointed out to us. Orial left us on our own for about an hour for lunch, but showed us various places to eat; gothic Girona looks a lot like Barcelona, with plenty of options where it comes to eating.
The Dali museum tour went very well. We waited about fifteen minutes in line to get in (on a Friday in May). You have to give the tour guide 14 euro pp so he can get tickets. Again, Orial shined in his duties and had other people’s attention. My girlfriend’s son did comment that our guide didn’t show us every single room/piece of art in the building. If I’d changed anything, I would have the guide, after the tour, give the tourists about a half an hour on their own to look around before leaving.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Barcelona area.
Booked a tour through inoutbarcelonatours.com with Arnau. Had a terrific experience with Arnau who made the tour come alive. The greatest praise came from another customer who admitted he had no interest in art at all, but after the tour kept talking about how much he was interested in Dali and how he wants to learn more about this wonderful artist. As Arnau's wife knows, he's a wonderful driver and his jokes were included in the tour price! Arnau's goal is to help the customer get the maximum amount from the tour and he succeeds. We highly recommend him and hope to take more tours with Arnau. Ron and Marcie
Long day but well worth it. The only complaint I have is the size of the vehicle they gave our guide as pretty cramped in the back seat for drive to and from our tour sites. Our guide Vincente was incredible. Our first stop Girona where we spent many hours walking, exploring and listening to our tour guide who was very informative regarding the history of this city. Also interesting/comical to see all the people there doing selfies in particular places that coincided with a series called Game of Thrones which I guess did filming there.
The next stop was to a restaurant where Dali had his engagement party where we sampled Catalan cuisine. Yum. On to Dali museum. Once again our guide did a great job on the history of Dali and insight to many of his paintings and art work. The place was very busy and noisy with school children so sometimes hard to hear our guide. My only suggestion would be to get headsets for everyone so there would be no problem hearing what our guide was telling us.
