Overview

Uncover the fascinating architecture and culture of the ancient Incas during this full-day tour covering the highlights of Peru’s Sacred Valley from Cusco. Check out the market in Pisac, stopping on Sundays to observe its famous mass. Then visit the Inca settlement at Ollantaytambo and explore the ruins of its fortress and the Temple of the Sun, a mysterious structure composed of giant 12-foot (3.5-m) stones. Your Sacred Valley tour also includes a guide, lunch, entrance fees, and round-trip hotel transport.
  • Full-day tour to the Sacred Valley, Pisac, and Ollantaytambo from Cusco
  • Visit the local market in the picturesque town of Pisac
  • Enjoy a guided tour of Ollantaytambo and the Temple of the Sun
  • Entrance fees, guide, lunch, and round-trip hotel transfers included
Get up close and personal with the culture of the ancient Inca civilization as you explore the main archaeological sites of the Sacred Valley near the empire’s former capital of Cusco. History lovers are sure to delight in this chance to explore this beautiful mountain valley, harboring a wealth of important Inca sites.

Start your day with a morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco, continuing first to the historic city of Pisac. The city was once known as a key trading post, offering a central location for Inca traders to barter for goods. The tradition persists to this day at Pisac’s well-known market, offering you the opportunity to browse for a wealth of handcrafted textiles and souvenirs made by the local community.

If you happen to be visiting Pisac on a Sunday, witness the town’s famous mass, conducted in both Quechua and Spanish. Observe the town’s collection of dignitaries in attendance, and watching as they play the pututo, a traditional musical instrument.

Take a break after finishing your time in Pisac with a tasty lunch of Peruvian specialties, continuing to the Fortress of Ollantaytambo to discover its impressive Temple of the Sun. During the Incan civil war, this imposing structure’s 12-foot (3.5-m) stones served as a key defensive barrier.

After finishing your exploration of Ollantaytambo, continue back to your Cusco hotel.

The tour itself was very well rounded, went to all the great spots..had a good amount of time to ourselves and the stops that we went to for markets to sell us stuff we learned a great deal about the culture so I didn’t feel like they were just trying to get us to buy things.Ernesto is phenomenal!!!! He was so knowledgeable, welcomed Any questions and you could tell he was so passionate about his work! He really made the trip enjoyable! The lunch buffet! Location beautiful and food was so good! Lastly the driver was so good at driving a big bus up and down curvy mountain roads!

Be Carefull....All Inclusions Not Honored

One of the reasons my husband and I selected this tour from the tour company VIAJES PACIFICO was because hotel pick up and drop off were included. The day before our excursion, we received a message from VIAJES PACIFICO stating the Wyndham Cusco Saqsayhuaman Hotel was not a hotel and we would therefore have to take a taxi to and from their main office for our excursion. We did not have time to cancel and book with a different travel agency so had to pay extra for taxi services. What was most confusing to us is that our excursion the day before was also through VIAJES PACIFICO and they did pick us up and drop us off at our hotel for our Machu PIcchu excursion. I would not recommend this tour company since they do not honor the inclusions they state you are paying for. Our email to this company requesting a discount or taxi fees be paid, has still not been returned to date.

Dear Tracy11874, We regret all the disadvantages your husband and you went through when taking this excursion. We made the proper investigation of your case with the department in charge of this; first of all we would like to apologize for this misunderstanding and the issues it caused. We identify the mistake in telling you that the Wyndham Cusco Saqsayhuaman Hotel wasn’t a hotel when in fact this is an actual hotel, the confusion was created due to the pick –up points where some of them are consider as pick-up points depending on the taken tour – for your Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco excursion your hotel was a pick up point because is on the way and its access is not difficult to get- , unfortunately for your Sacred Valley, Pisac and Ollantaytambo Full-Day Tour from Cusco excursion the Wyndham Cusco Saqsayhuaman Hotel is not on the way that’s why we asked to meet in our main office; this information is also published on the web page- it is found in the “Departure & Return” section- where it specifies: “TOUR DEPARTS FROM DOWNTOWN CUSCO HOTELS. THE TOUR INCLUDES ROUNDTRIP TRANSFER FROM YOUR HOTEL IN CUSCO DOWNTOWN. IF YOUR HOTEL IS LOCATED IN AN AREA OUTSIDE THIS ZONE, YOU MAY GO TO OUR CUSCO HEAD OFFICE LOCATED AT AV. EL SOL 817.” (https://www.viator.com/tours/Cusco/Sacred-Valley-Pisac-and-Ollantaytambo-Full-Day-Tour-from-Cusco/d937-5243CUSPIS?localeSwitch=1) In order to make up for this bad experience we are willing to attend the taxi fees requested. We kindly request to send us an e-mail to: Calidad@vipac.pe so we can have a faster communication. Once again, we regret the incidents that took place. Our departments will continue working harder in order to assure our service quality. Yours sincerely, Viajes Pacífico.

Our guide, Manuel, was outstanding - both as a very entertaining and well informed tour guide, as well as he went out of his way to accommodate our train schedule without impacting our, or the rest of the tours, experience. I would highly recommend this!

Pick up was great, a few minutes early and we got going quickly. Guide was friendly and his English was good. The sites visited were very interesting, especially Ollantaytambo. There was a fair amount of walking and steps (optional). Excessive time was spent on shopping. Website promised seeing the mass in Pisac but we were there to early and could not see it.
Great Tour for Value

I would definitely recommend booking through Viator, especially if you don't speak the native language and aren't too familiar with the area. My one suggestion would be to call and confirm the details - I received about a dozen emails in the weeks leading up to the trip, many of which had conflicting pickup/tour information that made it a bit confusing and caused us to arrive late, and at the wrong location. The Viator representatives were very understanding, and we were lucky to have a very nice guide and bus driver who turned around and picked us up. The Sacred Valley tour itself was outstanding, and better than advertised. The guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and they even made a few unscheduled stops during the tour at the request of the group.
Beautiful Countryside!
