Went on the 9:15 tour and did indeed beat the crowd which was very nice. Library was otherworldly and the book was beautiful and inspiring. guide Neil was very entertaining with facts, great stories and annecdotes and movie tie ins. Walked some of the city, got a number of restaurant/pub suggestions. Note: the tour description says it includes the Castle tour (it also says it does not) - it does not.

We had a wonderful tour with Neil McCourt. He was filled with all sorts of interesting stories told with the Irish wit.

The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and managed a very large group. Although the tour description did not indicate the length of the walking tour, it did meet expectations for seeing all that was described.

Phil was awesome and the Wikipedia of Dublin! Trinity is an amazing campus and the overall tour fabulous, informative, beautiful.......The fact that Phil was a native, had a wonderful wit about him, and had studied at Trinity were truly icing that even our 12 year old enjoyed the high intellect of the tour. Only feedback would be to prompt folks on wearing comfortable walking shoes as a couple of the older ladies in our group really slowed down the whole group.

Professional and knowledge. Neil was a wealth of knowledge and humor. Definitely a must do. Great way to get in some exercise as well. Walked about 7-8 miles.

Our group was the first to get in to see The Book of Kells and the Long Room. That was a very good move as by the time we were leaving it was already getting over crowded. The guide was an interesting and the Irish tour guide one would have expected. Shared some good background for some points of interest as we walked over to the Castle.Unfortunately a downpour brought an early end to the tour. Remember to always have the umbrella at hand in Ireland.

We booked the 11.30am and dutifully arrived 15 minutes early along with about a dozen other people. At 11.35am with no sign of a guide I called the number on our booking and was told our guide would be with us at 11.45am with no explanation of why. It turns out we should’ve received an email changing out tour time to 12.30pm. Our guide, to her credit, went ahead half an hour early although missing the one person who actually got a reschedule email for 12.30pm.As for as the tour itself this was excellent but it was very busy and a big group clustering around a tour guide just added to the chaos. The book of Kells and the Old library were fascinating, the castle was not, in my opiniom, really worth the visit though.Given this is billed as an “early access tour” the main advantage is not having to wait for half an hour to get in but that’s what we did anyway. In retrospect we probably would have got the same out of it by queuing then getting a self-guide audio tour.
