In a traditional black cab in Belfast, you’ll explore sites of the capital’s conflicted history: the mural-strewn streets of the Falls and Skankill neighborhoods and the Belfast Docks. Then course along the Antrim Coast to experience one of Ireland great geological marvels, the UNESCO World Heritage Site–listed Giant’s Causeway, followed by a stop at the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. Marvel at the surrounding headlands that were also used as a filming location for many Game of Thrones scenes.

Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This jam-packed tour makes it possible to visit Belfast and the Giant's Causeway in just one day.
Your full-day tour of Northern Ireland’s major sights starts with early-morning pickup in central Dublin. (Enjoy a 20 minute rest stop to take coffee and snacks before taking the Black Cab tour in Belfast. There you will have bathroom facilities with a range of vendors to buy hot and cold drinks, fresh food, light snacks and packed lunches. The same stop will be visited on the return journey fro Dublin).
An iconic black cab awaits you in Northern Ireland’s beautiful and infamous capital. This tour gives you a safe and introspective account of this impassioned city, most well known for its history of political and religious unrest. Explore Belfast’s Falls and Skankill neighborhoods, where hundreds of ornate murals impart Unionist and Nationalist political messaging in glorious color. Learn of the city’s industrial roots, its divisive conflict and its current youthful revival.
During the tour, you’ll see several of Belfast’s top attractions, including sites such as the Belfast Docks and the Harland and Wolff shipyard — snapshots of the city’s industrial beginnings. If the sentiment takes you, feel free to request a stop at other notable sites like the Peace Wall, where you can add your name to those of other peacemakers who have touched this monumental city.
The next leg of your journey is the grand Antrim Coastal Drive, taking you along Ireland’s wild, rocky north coast for dramatic sea views and the fairy-tale glens of Antrim. Speaking of drama, catch a view of Dunluce Castle, a medieval construction that’s enjoying a second life is as the House of Greyjoy in the award-winning TV series Game of Thrones.
The 2-hour drive brings you to the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Giant’s Causeway. Stretch your legs and enjoy a meander through this geological wonder that has been the source of many Irish myths. Then punctuate your tour of the north with an invigorating walk across the teetering, 80-foot-high (24-meter) Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (not for the faint-hearted!). After you’ve had your adrenaline boost for the day (or year), get cozy in your coach seat for the return ride back to central Dublin.

excellent host Anthony and driver Pete. Very informative and always knew what to expect next on trip. Anthony has done these trips many times and his expertise comes in handy. Excellent company to deal with.

This tour is great. Our driver and guide were very good and our guide gave us lots of really good information. I would highly recommend the Taxi Cab Tour. I heard several people opt for the Titanic tour as they thought it would be less depressing. Which is amazing when you realize how many people died on the Titanic. I'm from the UK but live in the US and was a child when the troubles started. I was shocked that communities are still segregated by walls with gates that open at 6.30am and are locked by the police at 6.30pm. Our taxi cab driver lived through the troubles and got very emotional when he told the story of him (15yrs old) and his family being pulled out of bed and arrested. As our guide put it, you could take his tour 15 times and enjoy it each time as every drivers experience would be different. The rest of the tour was also fabulous. The northern Ireland country side was breathtaking, be aware the last part of the trip to the bridge is physically taxing. Its a long walk up and down hills are can be too much for some.

I took the tour on Friday and our guide was amazing! Name started with and M. Shawn the bus driver was a safe driver. The tour was full of great sights, but my favorite was the black cab tour. I have a better understanding of what is going on in the area. I thought it was educational and insightful and would highly recommend it!

Oyr guide Kim was very knowledgeable with the perfect mix of Irish humor. The black cab tour is well worth it. Seeing the “Peace Wall” and Bombay street in Belfast poignantly emphasized the Irish divisions. The Giants Causeway with commentary by a National Trust guide was another highlight. Finally our visit to Dunluce Castle was an unexpected addition ( substitution for the rope bridge) and a magnificent setting.( especially if you are a Game of Thrones fan) This tour is well worth the money.

Left in the morning from Dublin, stopped in Belfast for the political cab tour which was really nice. Then we went to the Dunluce castle as the rope bridge was closed due to bad weather but it was ok as the castle isn't that bad and you have some pretty nice views from it. Then the Giant's causeway was the main objective which really has the highlight of the day.
