After pickup at your Cairo hotel, travel by private vehicle to your first stop — the Giza Plateau.
Gaze at the three pyramids of Cheops, Khafre and Menkaure, and learn how were built 4,600 years ago to prepare their dead pharaohs for the afterlife.
After your introduction, enjoy free time to head inside a pyramid (additional cost), or to visit the Solar Boat Museum, home to the funerary barge of Cheops, discovered buried beneath the sands.
Then, walk to the Great Sphinx and pose for photos at its feet before continuing to the Egyptian Museum, the world's largest showcase of ancient Egyptian artifacts. With your guide, view the treasures of Tutankhamun — the museum’s highlight. Ogle his gilded coffins and death mask and enjoy free time to explore further, perhaps seeing the strange animal mummies or visiting the Royal Mummy Halls.
Afterward, head for Cairo’s bustling Khan El Khalili bazaar. Stroll through the maze-like streets and perhaps scout out souvenirs from the stalls. You'll also visit a Papyrus Institute to see how papyrus scrolls are made, perhaps taking the opportunity to buy (own expense) some examples as keepsakes.
Your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off in the afternoon.
