Meet your guide and small group of up to 8 people at the gateway of Chinatown in time for a 9am departure. Set off to explore the vibrant district on foot, admiring the historic architecture and traditional shop-houses with their characteristic ‘five foot walkways’. Along the way, stop at a local coffee shop for a typical Singapore breakfast of coffee and crispy toast, then join the locals at a wet market to admire the array of vegetables, seafood, and other delicacies, including live frogs.
After sampling some more local specialties, ride the subway the short distance to Little India, another one of Singapore’s most colorful neighborhoods. Follow your guide around the local shops, pausing to admire the Indian saris, flower garlands, and pungent spices. Finish with a visit to the Tekka market, where you’ll have chance to chat with the shopkeepers, taste freshly baked prata (flatbread), and sip hot teh tarik (sweet milky tea).
Your tour ends around midday outside Little India MRT Station.
