Definitely worth paying a bit more to go on this trip compared to other tours.
Worth the little extra, staff go out of their way to ensure a fun experience for all.
This is a long but beautiful boat ride out and back - and if you have motion issues definitely bring dramamine just in case.

A lovely way to spend a day

This was a great trip and really pleased to have had the opportunity to go. Very well organised, we were picked up from our hotel reception in the morning (and dropped back there at the end of the day too). All the staff/crew were excellent - experienced, very friendly and knowledgeable. Food provided is great quality and plenty to go around. Lots of soft drinks available to have whenever you need and is included in the price. Quite a bit of information given out during the day, mostly around safety on the boat and activities but other interesting information provided around the area and what to see on the activities too. Snorkelling, Kayaking and walking up a (very) steep set of steps for wonderful views we're all optional but I would recommend. Good quality life jackets are always made available to wear for when in the water. If you are not an experienced snorkeler, there's a great inflatable that holds you safe on the surface making that activity accessible to all. If you can't Kayak then you can jump in the dingy and you'll be taken around the same route to the destinations. And the 'hike' can actually be done barefoot or with flip flops - walking shoes not at all necessary but you do need to be of average to good fitness level, and keep hydrated! One thing I would advise if you are considering this trip, in terms of setting expectations, a lot of the day is spent 'sailing' and much less is spent doing the actual activities. For my Wife and I, this was not a problem as we love being out on boats (living in the Midlands, you don't really get much opportunity to be out to sea!). But the journey home following the last activity was over 2 hours. But a great chance to enjoy the sunset, chat and make new friends, just chill out doing nothing but relaxing on the sunbeds. Slightly miffed that we had to pay an additional ฿300ea for entry to the National Park, this should really be included in the price as it wasn't really an 'option'. Overall - I loved this full day and would do it again.

Well organised, plenty of lovely food and free soft drinks and fab scenery. Snorkelling was fun and there was a floating net for the little one to use and put her head into the water safely to see the fishes. Everyone was very helpful, especially as we had a baby and three year old with us. The boat was very comfortable and we had plenty of space to chill out. We came across plenty of secluded beaches and would have loved to be able to visit one for a swim as the one we stopped at to see the emerald lake had a noisy generator and distracted from the experience.

Monkey man (the name he gave us) was awesome - he went out of his way to accommodate us as we didn't read the fine print and were unaware that we needed some cash to pay for park entrance fee - he actually came to our hotel with us to collect. The whole trip was fantastic from the sites we visited to the food!!

Some wonderful sights if you can cope with long trips on choppy water!

Some wonderful sights during this trip. The captain and his staff were very enthusiastic and always happy to help. The negative - it was a long day and the water was very choppy. My wife took up the opportunity to take a sea sickness tablet which was offered. I did not (having travelled fine on boats before) and was quite violently ill a couple of times on the journey out (over 2 hours). The snorkeling was a nice added bonus, plenty of fish to see during that part of the trip. The kayaks were good, too, though after hours of choppy travel, a few of the group complained about how much hard work it was!! May not be worth it if you can't deal with that physical aspect, water continued to be quite choppy and you were near very large rocks. The walk near the end (before travelling back) also involved climbing lots of VERY steep and VERY small steps. Not an easy task for anyone scared of heights or exhausted after the kayak experience!

That said, as there is no accurate weather forecast for Koh Samui's nearby islands, as each island has its localized weather system, no one can predict the weather 100% or even close to this. We have a saying in Thailand if you do not like the weather just wait… as it will change quickly…. Believe me, we have no interest in running trips when the weather is not good as the damage to our reputation, boats, and equipment exceeds any financial gain we may get. I am sorry that you gotten seasick. That said we do encourage sea-sick sensitive guests to get seasick pills that we provide. We always attempt to run tours only when weather conditions are nice. That said, as there is no accurate weather or rain forecast for Koh Samui's nearby islands, as each island has its localized weather system, we don’t only rely on the forecast, but also check the condition at our destination and view real-time weather radar in the morning of the tour. If weather conditions change later in the day as can be the case in tropical weather, we adjust the trip to have the best experience possible without compromising safety given the conditions developed. Our tours to the park offer optional activities, guests always have the choice if to partake or not as we offer alternatives. We do advise our guests that kayaking require moderate or better fitness level and invite guests who do not possessed sufficient level of fitness. Alternatively, guests are invited to hop on our dinghy that accompanies the kayaks, or relax on the yacht and take in the views of the islands. Guests who do not like to climb the steps to the lagoon are welcome to stay onboard, or at the beach of the island, or just climb part of the stairs as even after 15 stirs you get to a brilliant view point. A poor weather day made for a bad tour

We were disappointed in this trip! Never usually write reviews but this boat tour will go down as a bad memory sadly. The weather was not good enough for the tour to go ahead, and as a result a large proportion of the guests were very seasick! Couldn't kayak into the lagoon as promised so spent 500baht to fight against the waves when we could have just got in the dinghy. Several people didn't even manage to leave the ship they were so unwell. Couldn't eat the food due to nausea. Also missed out on a lot due to poor communication (diving off side of the boat closed before we even knew it was happening) I'm sure on a beautiful day this tour is amazing, but ultimately we came away feeling sad having spent £200 on a long and queasy journey.

Hello Fiona, I am sorry that you experienced unfavorable weather on the tour and were disappointed with the tour. The most reliable weather forecast for our area has predicted wind between 9 and 12 Knots and waves of about 0.30 meters in the morning and better conditions in the afternoon for your tour date. Unfortunately, the condition experienced was about 1 to 1.2-meter waves in the morning and about 1 meter in the afternoon. Of all the guests who join us on the day aboard the Blue and Red Dragon Yachts only you and another group have not enjoyed the tour following internal feedback we got. This reflects in the public reviews just before and after yours. We always attempt to run tours only when weather conditions are nice. That said, as there is no accurate weather or rain forecast for Koh Samui's nearby islands, as each island has its localized weather system, we don’t only rely on the forecast, but also check the condition at our destination and view real-time weather radar in the morning of the tour. If weather conditions change later in the day as can be the case in tropical weather, we adjust the trip to have the best experience possible without compromising safety given the conditions developed. For safety reasons we have selected a different kayaking location than the secret lagoon as the lagoon area is not protected from waves. This kayaking location is also great and most guests love it. We never promise to kayak into the lagoon as the ability to enter the lagoon safely depends on the tide level and waves of less than 30 cm. Indeed, if you select to kayak or go on the dinghy that follows the kayak for safety you end up in the same location but unfortunately, you did not enjoy the activity. I am sorry that you missed the “diving (jumping) off the side of the boat” that we offer sometimes to our guests at the end of snorkeling or kayaking but please note that this is not part of the inclusions of the tour. I wish you would have joined us in better weather and invite you to join us free of charge on your next trip to Koh Samui in hope that you would feel better about our tour and post a 5-star review. Believe me, we have no interest in running trips when the weather is not good as the damage to our reputation, boats, and equipment exceeds any financial gain we may get. Kind Regards, Aom

We had a great time on this tour, seeing Angthong marine park and also doing the snorkelling and kayaking. The crew were amazing, so friendly and accommodating. The food for breakfast and lunch was great and they also supplied drinks throughout the day. Would really recommend whilst in Koh Samui!

Terrible ride, little time to enjoy and low quality of food

Boat is rather old and extremely slow on the choppy water, too much time to watch and feel the boat struggling through the ocean. For a person that never has seasick and been to many boat rides in choppy water back home or here in Thailand, I also felt sick. Almost 2/3 of the ppl on the boat needed to take sea sick pills and some puked. Including delay, totally around 9 hours on the sea but only 3 hours max in the water or snorkling. Time was totally wasted on the boat feeling dizzy and the food was very average with very little time for breakfast. Totally not worth anything close to what was promoted. For this amount of money, u can resnt a nice night at a resort and enjoy it just just for a tour from the local agency in much lower price. I know for sure that the operator will write a very long piece to provide feedback on each of my comments here but oh well, if I talked with over half of the ppl on the boat after the trip and felt the same way as what I jist commented, maybe you should consider how to price your package correctly and offer what was said. Imagine that we might have plans afterwards but watsed most time on the delay of the sea ride. It is totally unacceptable and the snacks offered to us for delay was a pathetic tiny bowl of peanuts. I was like man, the peanuts must be made from 24k. We also need to portion the fish and wait our turns to take that little bit of fish. I cannot recommend this to anyone who will come to Samui to join this tour. Or it is okay if the price is in half then it can come closer to what was making sense. I requested for 50 percent refund but got an apology and rejection. I was trying to be as fair as possible considering the price was definitely a scam for the services delivered. Apology is free of course eeceeyone can do that to avoid actual request of refund, Don't join this tour and save your money

During the 2 hours of cruising to the park and back, our guests have breakfast, have a nap, enjoy the onboard jacuzzi, and relax at the roomy sundeck allowing uninterrupted views of the amazing scenery. I believe your negative review was prompted by your multiple requests to Viator and us demanding a 61% refund due to delayed return to Koh Samui. The following is part of your request for a refund, “ I cannot stress more strongly that apologies cannot compensate that lost we had as we missed the farwell of our dear friends who will leave Thailand back to their home countries” We are very happy to offer a refund when things go wrong but on your trip, nothing such as this happened only a delayed return which does not justify a refund 50% or 61% refund (refund request and the reasoning were changed from one request to another). Indeed on this day, the tour came back about 40 minutes later than scheduled due to the choppy sea on the way back to Koh Samui. We must slow down when we experience the choppy sea for the comfort of our guests. Our internal reviews from the trip and the 2 just next to your review were very positive from all the guests so I suspect your conclusion about other guests' experiences is nothing more than trying to support your refund request. As detailed in our tour information we offer three 1 hour stops during the tour for kayaking, snorkeling, and the visit to the Emerald lagoon and your tour itinerary was no different. We are the fastest large boat that visits the Park and visits the best attraction when no one is around! Exclusive to our tours, Kayaking at the secret lagoon makes for a fabulous kayaking experience. Located at the most remote corner of the park we explore the island by kayaks we carry onboard and follow the action from our tender. We snorkeled at islands located 20 minutes' sail away from the park as visibility at the park is very limited. I am sorry that the destinations were not mind-blowing for you. Even if you go with a speed boat you will find out that although it takes one hour for the journey, in good weather, to the park the tour length is the same as the speed boat tour waist a lot of time getting in and out of the boat and “preparing” for snorkeling, kayaking from the beach, and for lunch at the only one restaurant at the park. With regards to your comments about the food. In all our reviews including the ones on the day guests loved the food and no one got sick. We provide breakfast at about 11.00 am and late lunch at about 15:00 as well as fresh fruits and banana ice cream at sunset. I am sorry you got hungry on the return trip. We do appreciate your comment and now stock some snacks for guests who may get hungry. All in all, I believe you and your girlfriend who join you would have been happier with an economy-speed boat tour but this is not what we offer. Kind Regards, Laura

A highlight of our two weeks in Thailand. Visit several amazing archipelagos, with the ability to raft and snorkel around several of them. Get fed some amazing food made fresh on the boat, tour a semi-private island with an amazing cliff view, and watch the sun set off the unobstructed bow of the ship over the Gulf of Thailand. And our guide, Chop, was fantastic.

Long long boat ride to destinations that were good, but not mind blowing. Staff and boat was in great shape. But expect several hours of travel for a 30 minute stop before getting back on the boat to travel to the next place.

During the 2 hours of cruising to the park and back, our guests have breakfast, have a nap, enjoy the onboard jacuzzi, and relax at the roomy sundeck allowing uninterrupted views of the amazing scenery.
