Your tour begins with pickup from your Miraflores or San Isidro hotel in time for an 8.30am departure. Set out on the short drive to the coastal district of Miraflores, as your guide tells you a little about the city’s history and how it earned its nickname, the ‘City of Kings’.
Stop to admire the Huaca Huallamarca, a pre-Incan adobe pyramid, then continue to the Larco Museum for a guided tour of the museum’s archaeological collection. Spend time admiring the pre-Columbian artifacts, which include an impressive collection of gold and silver pieces, a selection of well-preserved mummies, and a room devoted to erotic sculptures.
After lunch at a local restaurant (included), continue to downtown Lima to discover the UNESCO-listed historic center. Follow your guide on a walking tour, stopping to hear the fascinating history of Plaza Mayor; climb the tower of the 17th-century Convent of San Francisco; and take photos of Lima Cathedral.
After a morning exploring Peru’s capital, your tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.
