Totally worth a visit. Price / performance is top! A unique experience for the travellers in Morocco. Idir was our guide who was always helpful in any case.

    An awesome experience!
    Isabella_A, Mar 2023
As a solo female traveler, I felt really safe and had a wonderful time. Yousef made everyone feel welcome and was very knowledgeable and personable. Other reviews have said there is a lot of driving, and there is, but there are frequent stops along the way. On the first day you stop to see some gorgeous views and you go on a tour after lunch followed by more driving and a few more stops before getting to the hotel. The hotel itself is okay for a night but I had some issues with my shower spraying in multiple directions and the wifi wasn't good, which is why I'm giving 4 stars. The breakfast at the hotel was also extremely basic. Bread, yogurt and beverages. Second day is more driving and stops then a tour and more driving before Merzouga. The camel ride was great and not as painful as I thought. I'm not in great shape and I did fine. Sandboarding was fun and worth going at least once. The camp was great. Your tent only has a bed and one outlet but it's perfect for one night. The guys at the campsite are so friendly and clearly wanted everyone to have fun at the bonfire. There was music and dancing and a great view of the stars. The third day is all driving but it's worth it. I absolutely recommend this tour!
    Amazing experience

Fantastic experience. 2 long bus journeys on the first and last days but worth it for the desert experience. Guides and driver were v nice and helpful.

    Just do it
    Miranda_T, Mar 2023
It was an amazing experience for me and for my boyfriend. Everyone including all the guides and other travelers were lovely. Our tour guide Yassin was so friendly and throughout the trip we had a very safe and smooth drive. Initially I was hesitant to come but I am so happy we did it. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and our guide Yassin together with people work in the camp threw him a surprise party. Their efforts were sincere and fun. I recommend it to everyone who is looking sth outside of their comfort zone.

Had a good time, but ne aware most of the time will love spent on the bus. Exactly like description, just know what to expect. The camel ride was awesome, all local guides were very great as well. The food they take us for lunch wasn't always the best though
    From bad to worse…

To preface: as a good Canadian, I rarely complain. Things happen, not every experience can be wonderful. But take heed: this tour/tour company don’t care about your experience; they care about making money off you. Please also be aware that my negative review is largely due to weather and the tour company choosing to go ahead with the tour instead of refunding us, but also includes an honest review of the amenities/offerings overall which are not as advertised. It was very evident that the weather was going to be terrible (more rain in 3 days than in 5 years). Instead of canceling the trip, they held us hostage for 3 days so they could make money while all participants had a bad experience, instead of just being honest and refunding us. I even checked with the tour operator (who had the same weather info I did) who assured me it would be fine. Their terms and conditions indicate that they’d cancel in the event of poor weather…do not trust this. It rained for 3 whole days and we couldn’t do any of the activities planned. Try riding a camel in the desert when it’s raining and get to a soaked camp with no heating :) All the activities were outdoors, so they were all ruined by the rain. The van poured water on the guests (see photos) and only after an hour did they stop to poorly fix it. They take you around to places where the experience is ruined by endless sales pitches. I totally understand it’s to support the local economy and I’m all for that, but it was way too much. The camp itself, pay attention. You really have to check if you’re staying at the normal camp or the luxury camp (the difference being sharing a bathroom with all your bus-mates or having your own, for example). No WiFi at the camp. No heating. No power plugs in the rooms. The camels are abused, they slap them, they tie ropes through their noses, horrible. I wish I had known before I booked; my mistake. Other guests were forced to take a camel back in the pouring rain and then arrived soaked at the tour bus in 8 degree weather. We were then asked to rush through the remaining sights because they were going to close the pass on through the Atlas Mountains. Had they canceled the trip like they should have, we wouldn’t have to rush through. Shame on this company for allowing this tour to go forward and for ignoring my request for a refund. Looking forward to their standard “we’re sorry you had a negative experience but…” reply.
    Fun filled Sahara experience.

We had a great time. Meeting people from different continents was a big plus. Our driver Yasim was great and so helpful. He was able to resolved the issue with our reservations and stayed with us until we got picked up by our guide. Thanks Yasim.

It's an experience one can only dream of. Our guide Ayoub is the biggest sunshine and will light up your mood even more. We loved every second of the trip - the camels, the tours and even the car ride was so fun thanks to Ayoub. I wanna thank every local guide as well as they were all so amazing. On the way you see so much of everything and To top up the amazing trip with the sight of dunes is just cherry on the top. I would reccomend to everyone I know and tell them to ask for Ayoub as a guide :) He really becomes more of a friend than a guide! Everything about that 10/10.

    Amazing experience in the Sahara
    adam_b, Feb 2023
Hussein was an amazing guide during the 3 day trek. The camel ride in the Sahara and watching the sunset in the evening were the highlights of the trip and would highly recommend every traveller to experience this once in their lifetime. The tour of Ait Ben Haddou was fascinating and insightful. The bathroom facilities at the camp were a little basic as expected but should not deter you from doing this amazing trip as it is only the final night. The hotel in Tinghir on the first night is of reasonable quality. The food was of an overall good quality and the portions was generous. Please ensure you bring a warm jacket and gloves as it can get cold in the Sahara during the night and early morning.

    Once in a lifetime
    Jordan_H, Jan 2023
This is the trip you want. We drove by where the 2 day trips take you, but this 3 day trip will take you to the desert you want to see. The drive through the mountains was amazing. Everything was great. We just wish there had been more to do at the camp, and that we could've seen the famous gate at Air Benhaddou.

    Great entertainment
    Bianca_P, Jan 2023
The staff were all nice and welcoming. We got the chance to visit more than just the desert itself on the way there. We went through some little villages and got to learn some history about them. Once we reached the desert we did some sand boarding, went with the camels and had a bonfire afterwards. In terms of food not all the places we stopped at had the best quality but its only 3 days so it was manageable. Overall it was a really nice experience and worth the money.
    Amazing trip 😍

Camel trek was a life experience. The desert is another world every person on Earth has to experience. People are very nice, kind and hostile. It is a long drive to the Merzouga and back but it is worth it.

The excursions were superb particularly the Ksar Ait Ben Haddou which was used in many films including Gladiator, the ma who would be king and Lawrence of Arabia. The Berber Community and of course the desert. Wow

If you are in Marrakech and looking for a few-day adventure - don’t think, just book this tour to Sahara desert. Had the best experience I could ever imagine! Camel riding in the desert, canyon, town for Hollywood movies, a lot of great people - it’s just a small amount of things you gonna find there. I promise, you won’t regret it.

    Amazing Tour
    Fernando_D, Jan 2023
What an amazing experience in the Sahara. I got lucky because our van has a friendly group and our guide Abdul is extraordinary. I was travelling alone and Abdul gave me an upgrade, a solo occupancy in the hotel and in the tent in the Sahara, he was so understanding and helpful You should try this tour totally worth it.

    Overpriced experience
    Olga_R, Jan 2023
This could be a little bit long but I'm gonna write something I would like to read myself before choosing this trip. First thing is that this trip is super overpriced on the Viator - in almost every hotel you could find exactly the same trip starting from around 60 euros, so I was a little disappointed and pissed off that the price difference for booking it in advance online is that big... If you only have enough time, go to Marrakesch and check it with any hotel you would be sleeping in the first night. Second thing is that to this price you are paying you HAVE to add cost of 3 lunches, which are starting from 100/110 dirhams the cheapest. They are almost exactly the same every day (pizza, pasta, tagine or cousous) and reeeally mediocre, I even start disliking moroccan food after this trip. My tip is not to take tagine for lunches, because for dinners they are serving it as well... - I ended up eating tagines 4 times during 3 day trip... What is completely inexplicable for me is that I was paying for a mediocre lunch around 11/12 euros every day and no drink was included - even water. The same goes for dinners which theoretically are included in the price - food is included but drinks not, not even the glass of pure water - which makes you feel that you are just a walking sack of money. Third thing is that there is A LOT of driving during the trip, and I really mean it - A LOT! First and second day was interesting cause we were stopping for the atractions on the way, but day 3 was a disaster cause there was nothing happening except lunch - I think we were sitting in the bus around 9 hours on the last day. And trust me, I really like sitting in the bus and just looking outside the window and listening to the music, but that was too much. Good thing that Wi-fi was available onboard and was working efficiently. Fourth thing is about the desert experience, which I was waiting for the most and was super hyped about. I really didn't know what to expect, I guess silent stay in the middle of deep dessert, but it turned out that our tour started just at the very beginning of the desert - so close that you could actually see and hear the main street from the camp... The tour on the camels to the camp was about 20-30 minutes, not more. It was so uncomfortable that on our way back the next morning only around 40% of the people were going back on camels, the rest was just walking. There was only one sandboard to use for 4 groups of people so we had to wait in a queue for a long time, and then had time for only one downhill ride. We have been there at the beginning of December, it was really cold in the tents and we had only one blanket. During the party the organizers were trying to keep a good atmosphere with a lot of alcohol but people were not really responding. Overall to sump up I don't think I would recommend this experience to a friend or do it ever again in the future. It was nice to see Sahara but not worth it pricewise - maybe for 60 euros (plus 35 for lunches) I could do it again, but if not, it's reeeally overpriced and not worth the money... I understand that everyone wants to try to see Sahara and do the camel experience but maybe Morocco is not the best country to think about it :(

    OKAY
    Li_Y, Dec 2022
The first day we mostly did driving, stoped at a few places to visit, we went to one village that day to see stuff but only got to a shop in the village which let us buy rugs, which the owner of the shop told us about how they were made and the lady making carpets in front of us showed us how to make a lamb rug just showing us how to make the fur nice and soft and told us what all the carpets were made of. Baby camel, camel, lamb, baby lamb, mixes, cactus silk, rose silk (really soft but expensive) and I think that’s it. But that’s all the tour guide in the village took us to and he gave us so much time to shop for the rug because they make a 20% reward money off of what we purchase. And also the shop keeper doesn’t make it fair with the lady that makes the rugs. Say a rug he sells for 500 the lady only gets 50 and the lady’s 20% money needs to go to the village and then the 80% goes to her family. We had some time to buy one of those big robes and time to buy 2 pants with the time we used while they were waiting for people from the carpet shop. We wanted to shop more but the tour guide just kept going. We were driving until lunch which the food was really good and cheap. Dinner at the hotel was okay but free (except the drinks). The hotel was okay. We got sleep for a rest for the other 2 days and woke up at 6:30 to have breakfast. The breakfast was terrible tho and plain and nothing like the other hotel I went to have breakfast. After breakfast we headed to the van and drove to another billiard where they weren’t any shops but we hiked in the freezing weather. We went back in the van and of course there’s pit stops for bathroom and drinks (sometimes food). We drove to a river on our way and a guy was selling a nice scarf for ONE EURO and really wanted to buy it but we had to catch up with the group since if we buy that the driver wouldn’t make any money. Just stoped for the lake and headed back in the van and I saw a really good purse that must’ve been really cheap, because 10 dh is a lot for villagers and people near the desert. After some bathroom stops we were at the the place where the camels were in Sahara desert. Riding the camels were very fun but the camels getting up and down was too much for me 😴. But there’s always one camel that’s difficult and makes his group behind 😒. We rode the camels all the way to a place where there was a lot of tents like big ones. Only beds in them tho. Dinner was not that good either and there were always cute desert cats begging for food which one of them we gave a lot of food sounded exactly like my cat so I felt a memory. After dinner we had a dance party near the fire with music and it was nice and warm. At 10:03 my child and I went to bed which there were three blankets and we were stuffed up with clothes. But it was freezing cold at night and felt like 0 degrees so my child got really sick. And riding the camels back to the van was very cold (especially our feet) so I don’t understand how the camels could survive in the desert 🤯. We drove for lunch and did some pit stops and the driver dropped everyone off at there hotel. We did not like Marrakesh because it was too crowded and the hotel was awful so we wanted to go to the train station to Casablanca. And the driver told us there would definitely be a train and we would make it but when he dropped us off LAST, we missed the last train. We had no hotel to stay in so we slept in the fast food restaurant we ate at. But it was very cold and my child got even more sick and I even sneezed a few times. We got on the train that day and went to Casablanca. We just felt the driver wasn’t taking care of us and he thought other people were more important than us because they had another tour. We gave him 100 dh tip. If we knew he lied to us we would’ve gave him nothing and would’ve gave it to the camel guys who work so hard every day or the lady who makes nice quality rugs everyday. I would recommend this to a friend because it was very fun it’s just that the train was a big problem but would most unlikely happen to someone else. Period.
