Traveler Tips

It's about a 30 minute walk up hill to get to the entrance of the castle so wear your hiking shoes!
Make sure you have comfortable walking shoes as there is a lot of walking even if you do take the bus up the mountain!
Have lunch first because you won't be able to later.

Beautiful castle. You cannot mix this experience.Tour guide and driver brilliant.Coach was really comfortable
Not a VIP experience for the price
abigail_m, Nov 2022
I gave this tour a 3. We did the small group ViP tour and I felt like I should have just book the regular. Aside from water, beer, coffee, snacks there was nothing VIP about the entrance to the castles. You enter the same as the others. After the Neuschwanstein Castle you have to walk down to the parking lot for 20 minutes. Each castle has 30 minute guided tour thats it. I would still go but I would probably do the regular.
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Thank you very much for sharing your experience and very sorry that we missed to meet your expectations. One of the main differences is especially the tour bus which offers 30 business class seats compared to 78 on the regular tour bus.

It was absolutely beautiful inside! Interesting history about King Ludwig. We really enjoyed it! I would recommend visiting this castle.
My first solo trip
Mariami_K, Nov 2022
Experience was magnificent! I traveled alone for the first time and enjoyed every little detail of it! Nicely organized tour with a very cool guide - she made the tour really fun because of her sense of humor! I met a lot of people and took lots of pictures. I recommend this tour because I think everybody should see Neuschwanstein at least once in a lifetime; this specific organized day tour is really easy accessible and well-managed! 100% recommend this company:)
Great experience

Great tour and clean bus. Our guide Elizabeth was informative and courteous. If you’re going in winter, be ready for rain and snow - wear appropriate shoes. Highly recommended.
Good tour - still have to buy tickets to get into castle
Jodie_H, Nov 2022
Very good tour guide. She explained everything. I marked them down purely because the ticket prices aren’t added in the price on the booking. Cost an extra 30 euro on top of the booking to get tickets into the castles. They ran a tight ship and the tour was delayed when others did no return to the bus in time.

Beautiful & comfortable bus and the experience itself. Easy to find the meeting place & drop off. Guide & driver good!
Worth the money and experience
Megan_H, Nov 2022
The pick up and drop off location was very easy to get to by the underground train. The tour was comfy and enjoyable. There were a few options to eat with good food near the castle. Both castles are a must see!
Fun experience but pricey
Francisco_T, Nov 2022
It was a fun trip and the guide was informative and kind. I did feel the value of $170 is overpriced, considering that lunch is not included (it should be) and neither is a $3 euro fee for taking the bus (it should be). I guess pretzels, fruits and peanuts and a few coffees and beers may be enough to justify the cost for some, but not for me. And to top it off, they ask for a tip in the end…

Interesting tour through the landscapes of Bavaria
Morgan_C, Nov 2022
Enjoyed this tour through the beautiful landscapes of Bavaria. The tour starts out promptly at 8:30am in Karlsplatz where you are greeted on the bus. I would recommend coming early to ensure your party can sit together. The tour is guided and throughout the journey they will point out various POI until you reach the first stop. Once on the bus, there is a €30 entrance fee to pay to get in the 2 castles on the tour. Unfortunately, there was an exceptional amount of traffic on the day we toured and we had a delayed arrival in Linderhof Palace meaning, some of the group couldn’t get an entrance ticket. Fortunately we did. Linderhof Palace is a Baroque style building which is like a mini replica of the Palace of Versailles. Smaller than most palaces, the tour lasts only a couple of minutes but you get to see everything. The drive to Neuschwanstein is a little longer but the views are spectacular. We were scheduled to make a stop at a beautiful German village of Oberammergau, however this was not possible due to traffic. Despite this, we were able to drive past and admire the architecture and wonderful murals decorating the houses of this village. Finally we arrived in Neuschwanstein. A busy area, and especially busy the day we arrived, there are two castles you can explore. With this tour however you can only view neuschwanstein. Located halfway up the hill, I would recommend here taking the shuttle bus up to the bridge. The castle itself, doesn’t contain much. Unfortunately king Ludwig the 2nd died while it was being built therefore it was never fully finished. There are in fact a couple of rooms one can explore in the castle and the view from the balcony ag the end is breathtaking. Returning to Munich once again traffic was an issue. Luckily they sell beers on board for the trip home! Overall great trip, unfortunately it was marred by the traffic delays. I understand that it was no fault of the company, but it did make the trip much longer than intended causing us to miss another walking tour planned in Munich that night. For that reason, not the full 5 star experience.
