Meet your guide and small group of no more than seven people in central Nîmes, close to the Arènes de Nîmes. Take time to admire the ancient Roman amphitheater, which dates back to the 1st century AD, and take photos before beginning your tour. After an introductory demonstration by your guide, enjoy practice time to get familiar with your Segway and learn the basics of stopping, steering and balancing, as you glide around the scenic Charles De Gaulle esplanade, with its beautiful fountains and gardens. Once you’re comfortable operating your Segway, follow your guide on a 1-, 1.5- or 2-hour tour of the city.
Zip around the sights of the Old City, stopping to admire its historic churches, lively plazas, and striking monuments. Along the way, learn fascinating facts and pick up insider tips from your local guide, and jump off to admire landmarks like the ancient Roman Maison Carrée and Norman Foster’s modern Carré d’Art. Finally, return to your starting point via Rue Fresque, Nîmes’ oldest street, renowned for its beautiful architecture.
After following the same route as the 1-hour tour, leave the Carré d'Art and continue through the bustling Place d’Assas, into the Jardin De La Fontaine, with its picturesque gardens, baroque fountains and Roman monuments like the Tour Magne.
Enjoy extra time to explore the Jardin De La Fontaine, jump off to take photos, and pick up some speed as you zoom down Avenue Jean Jaures. Finally, spot landmarks like the Pyramid and the Bull Tower, and admire the grand Roman gateway of the ‘Porte de France’, before returning to your starting point by the Arènes de Nîmes.
