Escape Prague and get acquainted with the spectacular natural landscapes of the Czech Republic on this 7-hour tour of the Ore Mountains, in an off-road vehicle. With a local guide, you’ll travel to the Fláje Dam, a World War II watchtower, and vast open-pit coal mines, while you learn about the culture and heritage of the Czech Republic. Lunch and hotel pickup and drop-off in Prague are included.
Your tour begins at your Prague hotel, where you’ll greet your guide and board a 4x4 vehicle suitable for the rugged roads of the Ore Mountains. During the scenic 2-hour drive, your guide provides a historical overview of the mining region and directs your attention to points of interest.
The first stop is the Fláje dam, a 17th-century channel considered a national monument. Then, learn about the construction of wind turbines, ascend a WWII watchtower, and gaze at colossal, open coalmines surrounded by natural splendor.
Stop intermittently to capture photographs and revitalize with lunch in a traditional Czech restaurant before making your way back to your Prague hotel. At the end of your tour, receive a Polaroid picture of your group on the 4x4 to memorialize your day.
