Soak up the historical atmosphere at Altos de Chavón, then sunbathe on Catalina Island during this 10-hour trip from Punta Cana. Walk through the recreated Mediterranean village, also known as the 'city of artists', with your local guide and get beautiful views of the Chavón River. Board a boat for Catalina Island, a sandy white speck in the azure sea, fringed with swaying palm trees. Sip a welcome drink and learn about the history and culture of the island. Go snorkeling and enjoy a beachside lunch before heading back to the mainland to explore La Romana. Round-trip transportation from Punta Cana hotels is included.
The only thing that was close to the description of this tour is that we got to snorkle near the wall, not at the wall though. We were not taken to Altos de Chavon, or to the river, and there was no lobster. What we got was a long ride in a van to a scuba boat that when finally loaded and ready took us to a snorkle spot near the wall, the divers went to the wall, where as the snorklers were left snorking around the boat. We were taken to Catalina island and finally given a bbq lunch, but told we had to pay extra for lobster. And after an hour or so we were shuttled back to our hotel. I booked this tour for all of the activities we were supposed to have and was really disappointed to have the whole day taken up and only get 20 minutes of snorkeling. I wouldn't have spent the money or time on this tour as it was.
Belle petite promenade, village atypique. Prise en charge et retour à l'hôtel. Déjeuner sur la plage de Catalina tout a fait correct.
