Following hotel or port pickup, board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus and travel to La Romana Beach in Bayahibe. On the way, stop at a gift shop to purchase souvenirs if you wish. Once you arrive in Bayahibe, a local photographer will snap your photo, which you can choose to have superimposed on a bottle of the island's aphrodisiac liquor, mamajuana.
Board your boat and watch the coastline of the Dominican Republic slide away as you head out to sea, bound for the idyllic Saona Island. On the way, stop to snorkel among schools of tropical fish on a coral reef for about 25 minutes and stop at a natural swimming pool to see an array of starfish and take advantage of the swim-up bar.
When you reach Saona Island, explore on your own. Walk the sandy shores, swim in the shallow water or lounge under the coconut palms. Dig in to a provided buffet lunch when you get hungry.
Board a catamaran for the return trip to the Dominican mainland. Listen to Batchata, merengue and reggaeton music, sip drinks from the open bar and even take a merengue lesson.
At the conclusion of your day trip, head back to shore and enjoy drop-off back at your accommodations.
