Diego was our tour guide on this tour and on the tour to Mindo forest. He is a great guide who tries to tailor the tour to your interests. He was very punctual. Very satisfied.

The weather cleared just in time for going down to the laguna. Very good visit to a local family. The guide was knowledgable about culture and volcanos.

Beautiful countryside on the drive. Interesting to see the traditional farm. View of the lake was spectacular, the walk down was precipitous and should mot be taken if you have dodgy knees. Altitude is high so walking back might be difficult. Mule/horse available. Include lunch on the tour; it was excellent. A long day, but our driver and guide were excellent.

A full day that covers many bases; helped enormously by Diego’s great commentary and context. The lagoon was the highlight but so many other surprises along the way. Well worth it.

We booked this tour while we were in Quito, a spur of the moment choice, we were concerned about the duration. What we found, however, was that the scenery on the drive was fascinating, the stop off to meet an Andean Indian family was most interesting too. When we arrived at Quilotoa our guide, Daniel, who was excellent, had us close our eyes and make our way to the overlook then open them to get the full effect of the view, which was amazing. The trail down to the crater lake is strenuous so I opted to ride down on a mule, and back up on a horse, both quite exciting and cost 10 each way. I have to say the excursion was one of the high spots of our visit to the Beautiful country of Ecuador

Great day trip from Quito with splendid landscape on the way and a beautiful crater lake at the end. Beware that the hike back up from Quilotoa lagoon to the rim of the crater is strenuous, so you might consider riding back on a horse costs extra, about USD 10 per horse. Our guide was very nice and fluent in English. Lunch was so so, but our guide was courteous enough to ask about food preferences before hand.

Excellent tour! Our guide Dante was friendly, flexible and knowledgable. Meeting the indigenous family was wonderful and the hike down to the lagoon with the donkey ride up in the rain was unforgettable! We highly recommend this tour.
