Why Travelers Choose This Tour
This is one of the few sunset bay tours—from Alcatraz to the Golden Gate—that sails on a catamaran.
Enjoy a San Francisco catamaran tour during the peaceful evening hours on this sunset cruise, when the City by the Bay will dazzle you with its famous views and sights. Board your 55- or 65-foot (17- or 20-meter) Adventure Cat on the Embarcadero, and take off across the water. Look for sea lions and other marine life as you head out into the bay, and settle yourself either inside the protected area with 360-degree views or on the canvas trampoline where you can truly experience the wind and salty air of the Pacific (bring layers!). Snack on a few hors d’oeuvres and enjoy two provided drinks from the onboard bar as your captain takes you past the historical island prison of Alcatraz and on to the Golden Gate Bridge. Look up at the towering bridge as you sail underneath it, and admire the waterfront hamlet of Sausalito, just on the north side. Your cruise ends when you return to the marina, from where you can continue your night out in San Francisco on your own.
Wonderful sunset cruise for a very reasonable price. Catamaran was stable and comfortable. Crew of three was friendly, capable, and very attentive. Note that "Two drinks and light Hors d'oeuvres" is a generous supply of beer, wine, chips, sourdough, mixed nuts, cheese, tomatoes, peppers, and hummus (to be expected on a small boat, but don't expect restaurant-style hot food). We had a wonderful time and will do it again sometime.
Despite some trepidation this turned out to be a fascinating and unique experience. Great staff, good food and drink and whole package put together by Michael the laconic Captain. The views were stunning...definitely recommend it.
I spent the whole time with very kind people, the team on board was great and attentive. The cruise is very interesting and the landscapes are beautiful. It gives a very good overview of the San Francisco bay area. I'll do it again for sure!
This was even better than I hoped for. Okay so I had imagined a sunny summer evening, sailing round the bay but what we got was a cloudy, foggy, freezing cold, late July trip and it was even more fun! Luckily they provided us with big, warm jackets that were a godsend as we were already frozen to our bones after an earlier trip to Alcatraz. There was sea spray and wind and much fun negotiating our way out to the front of the catamaran and back for photo opportunities! The canapés were much more substantial than expected so don't eat before you go so you can enjoy them properly, unlike us! We had a great view of the GG bridge, even though we couldn't see much of it as it was shrouded in the famous fog. The atmosphere onboard was fun and we laughed a lot at our girls getting sprayed by water and blown by the wind. Definitely one of our favourite moments from our California trip.
We (3 pals in for the weekend) LOVED this. I absolutely recommend and would do again next time I'm in SF. Everyone was helpful and polite. They had jackets for everybody which was great because it was cold.
We stood out on the front of the deck the whole time and the whole bottom half of our bodies were soaked. (Only the bottom because we were wearing their coats)
Rockin' good time, guys! THANKS!
