After pickup at your Santa Marta hotel, board a comfortable tour vehicle for the 1-hour drive to Tayrona National Natural Park. Prepare to spend the day exploring the 29,650 acres (12,000 hectares) of land and 7,410 acres (3,000 hectares) of sea that make up one of Colombia's most popular national parks.
During your time in the park, keep an eye out for local wildlife such as deer, bats and howler monkeys. Additionally, there are more than 300 bird species that call this park home, such as white eagles and condors.
Continue to Neguanje Beach, where you'll board a boat for the 20-minute ride to Crystal Beach. Once there, choose to relax and enjoy the scenery or buckle on a snorkel mask (rental at own expense) to explore the underwater world. Encounter more than 200 species of sea sponge, and get glimpses of crustaceans, turtles and dolphins if you're lucky.
When your beach time is over, make the journey back to Santa Marta for hotel drop-off.
