For a unique experience in Singapore, or anywhere on Earth for that matter, enjoy a Singapore Zoo breakfast with orangutans. If you choose the option, you’ll enjoy a jungle breakfast buffet in the company of a family of orangutans. These great apes are part of Singapore Zoo’s orangutan-breeding program, one of the most successful in the world. Snap pics with your new breakfast club and watch as they play around their habitat. Then take a tour of the zoo by tram to see the rest of the 3,600 animals. Not interested in breakfast? You can still purchase the zoo tour only.
Half-day morning tour of Singapore Zoo with optional breakfast with orangutans
Explore Singapore Zoo's landscaped gardens by tram and hear commentary on a variety of animals
Enjoy an international buffet breakfast at the Singapore Zoo’s Ah Meng Restaurant (if upgrade selected)
Learn about the world’s first free-ranging orangutan habitat, and have your photo taken with them (if upgrade selected)
Air-conditioned hotel transport included across the island to Mandai
This memorable wildlife experience includes hotel pickup and your Singapore Zoo entrance fee. When you arrive at the zoo, located in a northern area of Singapore, you’ll start at your buffet breakfast with the zoo’s famous orangutans, if option selected when booking (see the Itinerary for details about the breakfast). If not, enjoy free time to wander the zoo on your own before your tour begins.
When it’s time for your guided zoo tour, hop aboard an open-air tram for a journey around the zoo’s open habitats, specially designed to imitate natural wildlife environments, from the rainforests of Southeast Asia to the foothills of the Himalayas. While large animals like elephants and zebras roam a safe distance from your tram, there are other animals who may come right up to you as you ride along. There will also be stops where you can hop out of the tram to walk.
During your tour, learn about the various species at the zoo from your knowledgeable guide. The goal of the Singapore Zoo is that by the time you leave, you’ll have a new appreciation for and wonder of the planet’s fascinating creatures and their delicate habitats.
Dear Drew, thank you for your valuable feedback, we will bring this up to the F&B team of the zoo & ask them to improve. I hope you have enjoyed the rest of your stay in Singapore.
Thanks & kind regards!

I really wanted to go to the Breakfast with Orangutans and had looked at various ways of getting there but this half day tour was the least hassle - being picked up from your hotel. I knew from other reviews that there wouldn't be enough time to see the whole zoo so was prepared to make our own way home if we felt we wanted to stay on but by 11.45 we had seen all the main animals we wanted and the heat was sapping our strength so we were happy to return on the coach.
On the way to the zoo our guide was so thorough going through every detail of the map and suggesting times and order to complete for each section of the zoo to allow us to hit the ground running when we got there which was so helpful. He also explained the alternative methods of transport for those that wanted to stay on or missed the bus - he was very clear that he would not wait for late comers.
It was very busy when we arrived but we were taken to our reserved area of seating at breakfast which was right near where the Orangutans would sit. Tour East actually sponsor 'Breakfast with the Orangutans' which may be why the seats were so good. The buffet breakfast itself was delicious with so much choice.
Our guide had warned us not to panic when they gave the announcement for any one taking photos and it was good advice. Most of the restaurant got up and queued but we took our time and had a much shorter wait and stroked a python(!) while waiting.
There is no time to hang around while having your photograph and you are certainly not allowed to touch the orangutans but the staff were very helpful, taking a picture on my camera as well as the professional photographer.
After breakfast we looked went on the tram which was a good way to get around the zoo but not that many of the animals are visible from it as our guide had warned us. We also walked round a lot of the zoo and we were impressed by the way the animals were stimulated with different forms of play.
You could easily spend a day there if you had the stamina but we were happy to return with the coach and do our own activities that afternoon instead.
Thank you so much for your lovely review on our half day tour to the Zoo. We have been receiving so many positive reviews and very grateful that the world of the OrangUtans are now open to more people to have that 30mins with them. Or course, we cannot touch them now but even so just watching them is alot of fun. It looks like the guide did a good job to preempt everybody and gave adequate information so it turns out to be a trip that was worth your while. Hope this experience with our Orang Utans will remain the favourite trip of all your holidays!
The hotel pick up was fine and communication regarding times was good . The breakfast was fine though a little rushed due to arriving and getting seated as the orang-utans came out. The downside of this visit is that breakfast finished 10.30 and we were told the bus back was 11.45 hardly any time to go round the zoo . We ended up staying and getting a taxi back . I wonder how many people actually get the bus back. I think a 1.30 pickup would be more acceptable . The zoo is a lovely setting and it’s a shame to rush round .It was just not 18$ to come back so if interested I think I would book breakfast direct with the zoo and take taxis.
My Experience with Viator had been Pathetic. I had Book Singapore Zoo Tour With them, Paid 100% Advance Amount but nobody came / waited for us at the time of Pick Up. Nobody called us and left us with no option that we went by our own via Taxi to the Zoo and again Purchased New Tickets. Later on also no body is bothered to resolve our matters and not received any Refund till now. I will not recommend Viator to anybody. They have only one International US based Helpline Number. I called them on my International Roaming and took 15 Mins to Explain but still no solution.
Seeing the Orangutans was amazi g while eating breakfast although the food was a little disappointing for the price we paid.
But, seeing the family of Orangutans up so close outweighed the disappointing food.
Excellent value and service. Zoo is amazing and with this tour you have plenty of options and no pressure. Our guide ( Grayson ) was THE BEST. His commentary was informative and interesting, clearly outlining all the options available. Once there he made sure everyone was aware of what they needed to do and kept an eye out for them. Even left his own breakfast as we were walking out to make sure we knew where we were going.
The zoo itself is beautiful and the orangutans were very close for photo purposes and absolutely free. All the animals were housed in free range environments and well labelled and obviously well cared for. Top marks all round
This was a great experience but the orangutans are really just on display for part of the breakfast time and you can line up and be photographed quickly both professionally and with your own camera in front of them. Breakfast is buffet with plenty of choices but was a little cold by the time you get to it. You can access the zoo after which is fantastic but is rushed so if you really want to stay and enjoy it I recommend getting own transport back - there is some cheap options. The transport to/from was well organised with great communication
Can not go past this tour. Pick up from hotel and transfer went without a problem. Tour Guide, Florence, was very good on her knowledge and kept us engaged on the trip to the zoo. A good breakfast and then photos with the Orangutans and then the tram ride was well worth the cost.
They also took us back to our hotel.
