We had a great day, weather was brilliant our guide was magical. The whole half day from pick up to drop off was great, the guide told us lots about the area, stop for some great photos. Then there were the dogs, sledding was fun, not too many people around so got some extra runs in. Dogs are very friendly and then the puppies, loved the puppies. Great day and great guide.

Or guide up, Thomas was thoughtful , knowledgeable and entertaining. The sled dog were amazing!ntheybwere all so friendly and loved pets. Our musher Miriam was fabulous! She stopped during our ride and let one do the dogs come back.;I believe her name was Glacier.; such sweet loving animal. And of course the best part the puppies! We got to hold them. So adorable. My husband was in heaven. He would have taken the little guy under his jacket but they counted them before we left. Amazing fun day

Sled Dog Discovery

We enjoyed the excursion but felt hurried with the actual time we had with the dogs. The dog trainers were very good and informative. The ride they took us on was quite short and would have enjoyed it much more it was a bit longer. The base camp instructor was a young man with minimal knowledge. He tried to be entertaining with his humor, but did not go over too well. Again, the time we had with the pups was short and hurried. If they could have slowed things down a little and made more emphasis with us their guests, I would give it a more positive review. Hopefully they will read this and make some changes.

From beginning to end this was a very pleasant and well organized experience. The bus was on time to pick up from the cruise, the driver was an awesome guy, the Alaskan Huskies and their handlers were very professional and ready to go. We got to interact with the dogs and the puppies for a good amount of time. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing time going dog sledding with Kurt snuggling up with the baby puppies. Our bus driver Tim was great and handled a situation that was out of his control with easy. Thank you for a wonderful trip. Our kids will remember it forever!

Ride the Sled-Hug a Pup

My wife and I with our son, his wife, and granddaughter did the Skagway Sled Dog Discovery. Our guide Garrett did a great job on the motor coach ride to the camp of giving us lots of local history, good spots to eat and get a beer and what we would see and do at the camp. Met the musher and his team and took off on a ten minute romp pulled by the team in a wheeled, solid metal cart. FUN! Those dogs can really pull. Afterwards we got to ask questions, pet the dogs and take pictures. Then we went to the pen where the new puppies were kept with their moms. We each got to hold a 5-6 week old puppy. My granddaughter(12) was in heaven. Later we got an explanation of the history of the Iditarod and use of dog teams in the Arctic. The adventure was as described and well worth doing.

Of course, the ultimate experience would have been on a sled in the snow- but we traveled in August. Overall, it was a fun day: the puppies were precious, the staff were professional and funny, the scenery was beautiful

We had the best time and everyone enjoyed it. Chris, our driver and guide, was very funny but informative and great with all ages of people. Our musher was fairly new but she was good and we learned a lot. The dogs were so amazing to see and not what we had expected but just adorable. Of course one of the favorite parts was playing with the little puppies. Precious. I would recommend this to anyone. Great time and beautiful scenery going up to where the dogs were.

Our family really enjoyed the drive to the camp, the surrounds were beautiful and then the ATV van up the hill to meet the dogs. My heart melt seeing the dogs and how strong they were to pull the sled. Couldn’t ask to end the excursion any better than holding Puppies!!!! Great experience!!
