After morning pickup from your Hazyview hotel, travel by air-conditioned minivan for about one hour to reach the Jane Goodall Institute Chimpanzee Eden, which is located about 9 miles (15 km) outside Nelspruit.
Upon arrival, join a guided tour that includes the chimpanzee feeding at 10am. A visit to the institute provides the opportunity to observe chimpanzees in a semi-wild setting. Learn about these remarkable primates, which share 98% of human DNA, and know that your visit contributes to the rescue of the chimpanzees.
Stop for lunch after your time with the chimpanzees, then head to the Lowveld Botanical Gardens. The extensive 392-acre (159-hectare) botanical garden features about 600 plant species, including the largest collection of cycads in Africa, and is situated in Nelspruit where the Nels and Crocodile Rivers converge.
Have time to take a leisurely walk in the gardens before your guide returns you to your hotel in Hazyview.
