Took the 2 day pass for Washington DC. Should have taken the 3 day, cause if you really want to see everything you probably need 4-5 days. Once we realized that we had to catch the bus in DC ( we were staying in Alexandria) we found out that we needed to take the Water Taxi over to the Wharf, which was a really nice trip and quite inexpensive, plus we had a coupon with our bus ticket, for a free round trip ticket. We did the Red and Blue lines.
Very informative and the Bus app is helpful.
Gives you a great overall view of the sights in DC, and gives you the option to stop and see more of one sight. They also have a couple of routes of sightseeing; and these routes have common stops so you can hop to a different site. Great way to see as much as possible in a short time. Can buy a 1-day or 2-day pass.
Maybe due to high temp of over 100degrF but we had very disappointing experience with the tour. Tour guides without enthusiasm, some busses no speakers with explanation. Way overpriced looking at what we got.
We were disappointed. One of the narrators was top notch. Was excited about what she was telling us and was engaging. The other ones, when there was one were monotone and boring. Need more staff. Bus driver selling tickets delaying the ride.. Only two of the buses we road were air conditioned. However the bus does get you to the sites.
Waited twice over 40 minutes for Big Bus in 95 degree heat while other services drove by us. No air conditioning on bus. Bought 2 day pass for family of 6 six adults. No one would use the bus on the second day and we ended up using Uber instead to go see the sights of DC. Don't waste your money on these guys.
We found the trips tour guides to be in formative and friendly! Did find one to be a bit pushy about receiving a tip to the point where she passed around a bag for tips!! The journey is designed to show as many of the major sites possible and the route was spot on!! Could find at the most popular sites to re-board may incur a long wait if the bus fills up!
We loved the package we got through Viator with Big Bus. Lots included, and so easy to use and informative. Agents at Viator were not very familiar with the package, and when I called a couple times before traveling, I got differing information so I was concerned going. However, the bus drivers were great, and everything that was supposed to be included in the package really was. Very happy!
