Why Travelers Choose This Tour

A balance of driving and site visits (roughly 15 minutes at each) keeps the pace varied, and the commentary engages even the older kid and tween set. If you've explored D.C. during the day, choose the night tour to see the monuments illuminated in the darkness.
Meet the guide and the rest of the tour group at the National Archives Building to begin this comprehensive 3- or 6-hour tour around and through the nation’s capital, Washington, DC. Travel aboard an air-conditioned motor coach with an expert local guide who knows the city of Washington, DC inside and out.

On the 3-hour morning tour, visit the most popular monuments, memorials and museums in DC. Stops include the United States Capitol, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Vietnam Women’s Memorial, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial and the World War II Memorial. Also, drop-offs at the National Museum of Natural History or the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City are offered.

The 3-hour evening tour covers the same itinerary as the morning tour, except each of the landmark locations is illuminated for the evening.

On the full-day tour, see all of the city’s popular monuments and attractions. Drive by 30 of Washington, DC’s top sites with stops at 12 of them, including the United States Capitol, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Marine Corps War Memorial (aka the Iwo Jima Memorial), the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Vietnam Women’s Memorial and the United States Air Force Memorial.

Along the way, hear the historic stories and facts that make the city of Washington, DC one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States. There will be a lunch break at approximately the halfway point of the day.

This tour also features a scenic, seasonal 1-hour boat cruise along the Potomac River (mid-March to mid-October). Outside of those dates, visit the Thomas Jefferson Memorial.

Great day tour especially for those with limited time in Washington DC

On a hot summer day we could visit most of the DC attractions with an efficient guide. We got picked up in front of National Archives building and in the evening got dropped off at the same spot. We saw many attractions on the day and plenty of opportunities to take pictures. The boat ride after lunch break was probably the boring bit but probably gave us a bit of rest after lunch. Our guide Tyron was great and gave us enough details / history. One of the better guides no doubt and thanks Tyron for guiding us on the 26th July 2019 Our stops were at Capitol Hill, White House, World War II memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Roosevelt Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr and after lunch US Airforce Memorial and Iwo Jima Memorial driving past Arlington National Cemetery Glad we chose this trip

We had a great tour! Our guide was personable and very knowledgeable of the sites we visited and also ones we passed. We saw so many things! We also really appreciated the cooler of water on one of the hottest days ever in DC!!

Thanks so much for letting us know that you enjoyed your time with us and that the cold bottled water hit the spot. It sure does for us too! Please come back to DC again for another tour and thanks for choosing Signature Tours of DC.

Signed up for a 3-hr Signature Tour on Jul 22. Our tour guide, Tyrone, was “extremely” knowledgeable and impressive for a 25-30 yr old. He made the tour a great experience and provided insights and little-known facts about each location. Also, Mary went above and beyond and provided my wife and I with exceptional customer service! Highly recommended!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about the tour on Trip Advisor and we hope to see you again on another tour in the very near future. Do you know by any chance who your guide was? That helps us let them know they are doing a good job. Either way, thanks for coming out with us and we do hope to see you again soon.

We've taken several of these kinds of trips over the years from NY to Chicago to San Francisco & can easily say that this was the most disappointing tour that my wife & I have been on. Washington is an awesome town & there are obviously many wonderful buildings, historical sites, statues etc to see. Unfortunately our guide seemed to be there to do a job & get the day over with. He had a basic knowledge of the primary sites, but if we weren't right on his script there wasn't the kind of background & insight that we've seen from other tour companies. In fact, the 10 minutes we waited for our guide to show up was very insightful as the person who checked us in provided the kind of local knowledge / flavor that we have come to expect on these kinds of junckets. I'll add that the guide's apparent inexperience would have been more tolerable if he had been a "people person", but he wasn't. He was pretty abrupt several times, & I got to feeling that he just didn't care to be there. I won't accept that he might have had a bad day or whatever. We spent a considerable amount for a 6 hour tour & that is fine for a professional tour. A guide needs to be "on" every day, or just find a replacement for that day. My wife & I will certainly take a chartered bus tour the next time that we arrive in a major city on vacation. We are already planning our next trip to Boston next spring, but certainly Signature Tours will not be on our list of companies to travel with.

I selected this tour for my family of 13 people with high expectations. We were there to have fun but did not enjoy this particular tour. First, the tour guide showed up 20 minutes late. Then, he proceeded to rush us through each stop, alloting 10 minutes at each stop. I understand that we cannot spend all day at each monument but I was told that we would be given 15 minutes each over the phone when booking the tour. Traveling with young children and elderly grandparents, this was an issue for us since many of the places involve walking or waiting on line for an elevator. On one of the stops, a few people from our group fell a few feet behind of our speedwalking guide and he proceeded to sternly lecture us (I felt like it was more like yelling but he said he wasn't yelling) in front of the rest of the group. The reason we fell behind is because my toddler fell and we stopped to pick him up. Our guide did not make the tour fun or exciting at all. He looked serious and angry for the entire 3 hours. This was not comforting at all since it was 90 degrees outside and inside the bus was blowing hot air (which the courteous bus driver apologized for). I will not be using Signature Tours again.
DC the way it was meant to be seen!

The tour guide was pleasant and well spoken - very articulate. I learned much about our country in a relatively short period of time and saw wondrous exhibits.
Drop Off Location Wrong

The drop off location listed on website is wrong and our guide was extremely rude about the misinformation. He basically told us to get a cab. He had no consideration that we had older individuals on the tour as he keep a hectic pace.
